Hobao allllllllll day long… FAR superior vehicle all the way around. Hobao has a STELLAR, long-time reputation for quality vehicles. The Ali Express deal-well I’ll just leave it at that…🤷🏻‍♂️😅

even if the scale is 1:10 compare to 1:8 (zd)?
to be honest - my dream is 1:8 truggy, but i just can't afford SSTE.
That's where my choice came from.
Anyway, appreciate your advice. Thank

If you want a 1/8, then I’m not sure why you’ve got a 1/10 truck in your choices.. If I want a 1/8, I’m saving my money for 1/8.. I wouldnt even think of looking at the Ching Chong knockoff’s, only reputable manufacturers. You do indeed “get what you pay for”-ESPECIALLY when it comes to proper, hobby, or even race grade RC.. Parts support, and manufacturer reputation play huge roles in your fun level, and success in RC. Just something to think about. I’d still choose the 1/10 Hobao over that Ali Express thing.. 🍻🤘

Do you know the moment, when you want something right here right now )))
parts support and manufacturer reputatin is the main reason why i have tt2.0 in list )
as in uk u couldnt find any spares for ZD, and dont want to struggle with Ali.

I'm not an 1/8 scale racer. Your guy is @Littlemotor for that!
As far as buying what you don't want because you want it now...
I have a couple of those right now.
One is a cheap chinese car.... DON'T BUY A CHEAP CHINESE KNOCK OFF CAR!!!
You will be forever replacing the cheap knock off parts until you give up on it.
DEERC 200e in a box in my basement because I couldn't make it run thru a whole battery without breaking.
It was fun to tinker but a total waste of money.
You can tinker on your good car too.
Buy something with parts that you can buy at lots of hobby shops.
I don't care how cool you think your 'broken, can't buy parts for it' rc is... its not. Broken rc's sre expensive paperweights at best as we know. 🤣
As you mentioned, waiting for parts, messing with shady sellers on ali... I'm all set. No thanks!
If you want a certain scale, buy that.
1/10 and 1/8 scale are def designed differently! 1/8 will generally be the tougher buggy.
Good luck with your shopping

thank you for response. appreciate your advice
make a lot sense for me

Just a quick upd
Thanks to your advices and arguments, i end up going wit tt 2.0
BUT decide to go with roller one.
for the electronics i've choose
Hobbywing EZRUN MAX10 80A 4100Kv
and some very basic cheap ali servo (as a starting point)
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1943129663.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.53db38daQQlRky&mp=1&pdp_npi=5@dis!GBP!GBP 11.56!GBP 10.79!!!!!@211b81a317418765318218099ea9e4!12000029328681684!ct!UK!4839930006!!1!0
What would you say about this spec? should i look on something else instead, or as a start will be fine?
You bought a TT02? If so, that servo will be fine for tossing those steering components around so they can go wherever they want 😉

no, i didn't, but will, once i done with other components.
Which servo would you recommend instead?
(sorry i'm really noobie)

If anybody holds top notch credibility @Littlemotor does.
If he suggests a rig, GO FOR IT.

Well, if you haven't bought the TT02 yet, I would advise against that one. It is capable of being a chassis to display a body on your shelf with, but not very good at driving around.

Sorry mate, i can't get what is the "rig" (newbie)
Could you please, clarify this for me?
Sure: "rig" is simply a nickname for a car or truck. Example: check out my rig also know as check out my truck.

Sorry if i confuse you. its not TT02 (which is Tamiya drift i believe) i'm talking about Hobao TT 2.0
Oh, yeah. Duh. Yeah, grab that.

As far as servo goes, if you're wanting to stay cheap, that servo looks to be the same ones sold on Amazon. Folks, including myself have used them with good results. But if you can afford a decent one, I'd look at Hitec. The more you spend on a servo, typically, the better it is. More torque, more speed, able to handle more power, etc are all benefits to a long lasting servo. I fight with balancing cost vs specifications on servos all the time, because the price has gotten so ridiculous on them

I found Hitec too expemcive for me now, so i will probbably start with something cheaper.
Coud you guys suggest me any specific option for TT 2.0 to buy in UK?

Servo? What Servo?

If it were me, I would go no less than a 200 oz-in servo in the HoBao mini truggy. 300-ish oz-in... even better. I only say that because that is what was recommended by Tekno's mini truggy ET410 manual, and what I have used since 2019. The nice thing about the HoBao TT 2.0 is that it has an adjustable servo saver built into the bell crank whereas the ET410 has none, so a robust servo is very much needed.

There is so many good servos in and around the "middle of the road" stuff. I like to recommend a person up the ante a bit, when servo shopping, by taking a look if spare gear sets are available if/when the servo's gears wear out/bite the dust. How much of a gamble are you willing to take? That being said, I've been known to take a gamble a couple of times by buying a lower budget disposable servo.

One servo that has jumped into many of my RCs is the JX Servo CLS5830HV-V2 with spare gear sets that are only $6 USD. It's been in a 1/8 scale monster truggy (I don't recommend do what I did) for testing purposes. Gears finally gave up after about a year of abuse. After that, it was in a 1/8 scale buggy. For the past two years, it's been in a 4wd SCT... it's so happy being there.

I had three ZD Racing ZRT-1 truggies at one time. Don't ask. eBay addiction.

1741911822719.webp

They were very good. Shocks were outstanding. There was just one part that made everything go south... the front universal driveshafts were weak. I was going through them at a ridiculous rate. At $17 a pop, that adds up when you can only get a few runs on the darn things. I felt so let down...sold them for a good profit. I'm sure ZD Racing learned a lesson and corrected the V2s, and V3s truggies universals...maybe. You have to do the research and look at/read the reviews for anything you are thinking about getting.

Like others have said earlier, parts support is a factor in what direction a person goes. Download the manual and go judge for yourself.
