Well, had the revo running pretty good for all stock set up. Fiished 3rd in the first qualifier and 4th in the second qualifier. Started 4th in the A-main and here is where it went bad. Changed over to bowtie's before the main and man it hooked up like on rails. No more sliding around. As we were doing the warmup for the main the battery pack took a dump and the fail safe kicked in and no more go. Didn't even get to start the main. Well thought I would share my first race experience with yall. We will race again in 2 weeks.

Mann that sucks. Always keep a spare battery on hand...

Man that sux!! Need to get a higher Mah Capacity pack. or just have a few packs fully charged the night before and then you are set!! Hope you do better the next time..at least start!!lol J/K

I usually repeak my rx pack before the main, immediately after my last qualifier. Makes good practice but I also carry an extra alkaline pack just incase I'm pressed for time. Especially since my onroad only has a 700Mah rx pack. I wish there were higer ratings for the serpent710 like my flatpack for the ntc3's 1400 mah rating.

Also, are you running digital servos? Those suck the batteries pretty quick as well.

no digitals. Still all stock radio equipment. I will promise it will not happen again unless we have a total pack melt down. lol

Man, i've been there, except I didn't even make all the qualifiers before I was out of commission. Only time i did a race, did the 1st qualifier, broke halfway through the second. It was an easy fix but I was incredibly broke at the time and didn't have the money to fix the car.

Dang that has got to suck. Sounds like you were doin really well too. I guess a lesson learned... backup battery definately. Well, congrats on your racing progress anyways.

dont repeak ur battery, run it down til it just starts to lose power, then give it a full charge. have a fresh unused batt for the main. surprised u actually were bold enuff to change somethin like tires b4 the main when u did quite well in ur quals. good luck next time.

The ol' boy scout motto; "Be Prepared"

Hey Man, don't fret, everybody who has raced has a story similar to this.

You would think race day would be a breeze.

sign-up
warm-up
fire up your ride when it's your turn
run 5-10 minutes
30-45 minutes ass time
repeat

Man I wish it was that simple and some days it is, car runs great, nothing breaks and you can enjoy BS'ing with your buddies.

Other nights it's an all out scramble just to get yourself on the drivers stand.

None-the-less; I bet your hands were shaking when you came down from the stand, you dreamed of racing for the next couple nights and can't wait to get back out!!!

Wasn't really being bold. Cracked the center of a wheel in the second qualifier. I only changed the suspension when we had to change the tires/wheels. They was keeping the track sprayed and didn't want to have a problem with traction rollovers as a lot of the others were doing during the qualifiers.

Man, that sucks. Yet another reason I have no ambition to race... I have enough dissapointments in my life. I'd hate to start tacking on more dissapointments with my hobby.

As for the battery pack, read my sig... Now you know for next time.
