Sorry I forgot that it doesn't have the three speed yet. This will be an option part for it sooner or later. I imagine in order to reach that speed it would have to be a bit of a dog on the low end but if you watch the video of it going that 74 mph it seemed like it did it rather quickly. I think it would have to have a set of freeway gears in it.

fist of all it is a 2 speed trany. and the engine is hi in proformence. i know that because i have one too!!!!!:winnar: :winnar:

You have regurgitated something I have already been schooled on thanks.

this engine is a big block case BTW and ANY big block will bolt right in. HUMMM pico .26 and different gearing..... DUCK! bring the kids inside.

I used the motor mounts from a CT4 to put the .21 in my MT2

Well, I won't be able to give a review on this car like I had planned. I ended up selling it. I never even broke it in or anything. What made me sell it was the fact that I read a second review on it done by one of the RC magazines. I don't remember which one. It is the issue out now where they are doing a 5 car shoot-out for top speed.

Anyway, they confirmed what I had suspected about the car. The acceleration has horrible. They were only able to clock the car @ 58mph (not the claimed 70+mph) and it took about 6 seconds for it to reach 60mph.

While you compare it to some of the other cars they tested, such as the 4-Tec. It was able to reach it's claimed box mark of 60mph, but it did it in about 3 seconds.

Hopefully, CEN will be able to do better with their Genesis.

That's what i've been suspecting all along.

to make sure I was right, nobodys perfect!anything in life that sounds to good to be true usually is,if the car would actually do what it says,it would be the most popular car out, everybody would have or want one, JUST USING SOME COMMON SENSE!:loser:

True, nobody's perfect & things usually are too good to be true. Just because everyone wants something, doesn't make it the best this out there.

Look at the stock T-Maxx for example, stock pretty much sucks, hop-ups are a requirement for it. Yet alot of people want it.

Marketing also plays an important part in what people want. Just b/c something is heavily marketed doesn't make it the best. Again referring to the T-Maxx.

It is not a question of common sense, it is a question of giving another company a chance to prove themselves. CEN is a sleeper company and doesn't dish out tons on $$$ on marketing, like Traxxas does.

So since there wasn't any really good information out there on the CT4 (as in reviews), I bought one to give them a chance and find out first hand how good/bad it was. Knowing the whole time that it probably lacked in the acceleration department.

However, as I already stated earlier, my assumptions were correct and I didn't even bother with the car and sold it.

It is not about common sense, it is about curiosity. You are/were just as curious as everyone else (including me) about how the CT4 really performs; because if you weren't then you wouldn't be reading threads about it and commenting on it.

Enough of wasting my time w/ your ignorance....:whip: :whip: :whip:

we wanna speak of ignorance, lets see here, you purchased a car just to do a review on it,AND NEVER EVEN RAN IT???? and then wanna dog on it and give it a bullshit review, because of someone elses experiance. so common sense didnt tell you it was a bucket, you took someone elses word on it?seems like a waste of time and money to me?I do believe that would fall under ignorance,T-MAXX well it sure didnt become what it is today because of reviews like yours.I do believe it dominated the MT market up until after the savage was released notice the after in there, this is because companys dont produce alota hop-ups for something that isnt gonna sell, this is how it works, T-MAXX=good truck=popularity=aftermarket support/ savage=good truck=popularity=lots of aftermarket support/ CEN=bucket=no popularity=no aftermarket. is this making any sence?ohh and I also believe you mentioned something to the effect of me wasting your time?you wasted plenty of your own so what do you care if I waste alittle of it?

Ha-Ha, nice try. You still are missing the whole point. You should take a couple of marketing classes and then you might understand what I'm talking about.

Oh, an English class could help you out too. There is such a thing called grammar, punctuation, & capitilization of your sentences.

I see no reason to ditch on a thread, or get upset with a guy who's only intention was to share some info on his new ride.

He sold it before he even drove it, yes. He was honest about that.

If I was about to buy one of these rides, I think I would like to know that somone traded one in before even driving it.

It might make me think twice

Exactly lykan, that's the whole purpose of the thread. I had just planned to share some info on the car since you can't find anything about it anywhere.

I'm not knocking the car at all. It comes with some nice features on it and appeared to be put together pretty nice.

I had planned on breaking it in (when the weather warmed up) but in the meantime I came across the recent RC article doing a review on it. Since this was the second review I came across that verified the poor acceleration, I decided to not even break it in. This way I could re-sell it new and not take a financial loss. You will get more $$$ selling something new than you will selling something used.

So I was just letting people know about my decision, considering I was the one who started this thread.

Cen ct4-s

Digital ... Have you been to the rcnitro website lately? A guy named radarrustler did some extensive testing on the new ct4-s. The new car has a different motor in it , more rpms and a taller final gear ratio 3.1 instead of 4.6. You might want to read this articule. On the final run he hit 71mph.8-0

Digital Liquid, try this - http://www.rcnitro.com - When the page comes up then click on-radio control zone - When the next page comes up click on - bulletin boards and when the third page comes up click on - nitro forum then go to page two look for Cen 73.5 mph test by raderrustler.:)

Thanks for the update, it does look like he got her up over 70+ MPH. Pretty good, the only thing she needs is some help on the acceleration. As the other posts mentioned, an engine swap might do the trick for her.

Thanks.
