:w00t: Well, UPS finally showed up & brought the new whip. I definitely haven't had time to break her in, but I did snap a few pics & have a few comments on her.

Comments:

---The car seems to be put together real nice, all the parts seem strong & sturdy. (we will see how true this is once I break her in).

---I put her on the scale & she weighed in around 4 lbs. (without batteries & gas). I don't know if this is heavy or not, since she is my first touring car. But it doesn't seem to bad. NX-15 motor puts out 2.5cc or 1.6hp, so the power-to-weight ratio is 0.4 Pretty decent.

---The body has it's (+) & (-) . The side mirrors & movable windshield wipers are a nice look. Downside: The body is very thin & some of the stickers are already peeling off. But nothing a little glue can't remedy.

---The shocks don't have oil in them, so you have to take them apart & add oil. No big deal since I have some shock oil laying around.

---You have to glue the tires. No big deal either.

---The Mirage III radio....in one word....SUCKS. It is made of real cheap plastic & feels like a toy from a Happy Meal. Luckily the frequency channel happens to be the same channel as my T-Maxx, so I will use the TQ3 radio to run it. I plan on upgrading to a nice radio soon. Got to get the funds right first.

---Overall, she is pretty nice, & I can't wait to open her up on the smooth ashpalt. I will post an update after break-in & a few runs down the street.

Later...

Dude can't wait till you get that thing broken in and tell how much/little power it has. The car itself looks like a quality built car. Seems like it has lots of hop ups for it stock. Nice pick you made.

Can you give the specs on the drive train and mill so I can plug in to a spread sheet and see what the computer says the top speed will be? here are the specs I need ...

1. Outside diameter of the tire
2. spur gear size (how many teeth)
3. pinion size (# of teeth)
4. Top rpm of the engine

I'm sure I can get it from the reviews but I can't get the revised review. I can only find the one with the prototype test, not the one with the actual engine they're using.

Tiny, I scooped her up for $300. Not too bad, considering my LHS sells them for $450! I got her online from Hobbytron (at the bottom of page). They have it on sale for $330 and you can use a 10% off coupon code from Coupon Code is in middle of page . The coupon code expires tomorrow, but they usually put a new 10% off code up there every month.

So my final price was $297 + $5 shipping. I went w/ the CT4-S b/c the price was good, speed should be good, & there are not alot of hop-ups available so I'm less likely to buy them (unlike my T-Maxx). However, I can find replacement parts pretty easily so that is no big deal. As I mentioned earlier, she seems to be built pretty nice & has alot of hop-ups already on her.

I also scooped my T-Maxx from them for $350 (that included free shipping), and a friend got his Savage 25 from them too. If you get something, make sure you use the latest coupon code.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Diver, here are the specs you requested:

---Outside Tire Diameter - 65mm or 2.56"
---Spur Gear A - 42 teeth
---Spur Gear B - 38 teeth
---Pinion Gear - 17 teeth
---Clutch Bell - 15 to 19 teeth
---Top RPM - 35000

Let me know what you come up with. Later...

Digital Liquid - That is a nice looking car, it looks very soild built like a tank. I went to the Cen car website to get the information I needed to punch into the rc calculator that www.rcnitro.com has. While I was on the Cen car website I noticed that they have updated the specifications for the car, the new final gear ratio is now 3.2 to 1!!! When I put these numbers in the speed calculator I got a top end speed of about 85 miles an hour. However I will believe it when I see it. I really don't think that the motor is powerful enough to do that, if it were one of the new novarossi high output 15's maybe:confused:

the body looks nice, as does the addition of a transponder mount. tires are stock euro. thats good too. your right - the TX does look a bit sad. None impressed with the worlds smallest airfilter too, lol. I still cannot get over that body. let us know how she handles.

I have to say that so far it looks better than I'd expect from CEN. I do hope this is a good idea of how they're going to turn some of their line a little more towards competition. I was impressed to see 70+ mph pop up on the radar gun on the video from their webpage. Granted, probably won't do any good on a closed circuit.
How tuneable is it? Lots of shock mount options? Swaybars? Fixed links or turnbuckles? Caster?

Hi CM, everything looks adjustable to me:

Transmission: Adjustable
Adjustable down travel "droop"
Front Hubs have two holes to change Ackerman
Camber: Adjustable Front and Rear
Caster: Adjustable
Toe-in: Adjustable front and rear
Down Stops: Fully adjustable Front and Rear
Anti-Roll Bars: Front and Rear ant-sway bars included
Turnbuckles: Adjustable
Shocks: Different mounting points for adjustment (front & rear)

There is so much stuff to tweak that it out should be fun. The hard part will be finding the right settings for my run application.

Digital,

I plugged in the #'s on the excel spread sheet. Looks good, est top speed is 64.7 mph. It'll probably hit 75 depending on settings and wheel choice. This is estimated but doesn't pull in the factors of Foam or Slick tires and what grip rating. Either way, that's a very fast car out of the box.

Get that puppy broken in and post the review. Vids would be nice too.

Sounds like a reasonable race chassis. I'm interested to see how it does perform...

well i got a cen ct-4s and me and my friends got it up to 72.4mph its one fast rtr car the onley thing i found wrong with it is the body very very thin and it looks like a toy the raido is very poor (but i have to use it i broke my other one) like he said its like a free toy you get other then that its a good car runs very very well thats all i got to say about it :flamer: :cheerful:

I'm not quit sure i will test it out tmo and ill try to let you know:buggy1:   8-0 :microwave :tophat: :nuke:

I am also curious to know more about this car, I can already tell the radio and servos look kinda trashy, I am hoping they put more detail into the car itself and just have to sell the poop radio to justify that! Here are some of the best pics I have been able to find of this car.

Taylor200000 - What did you use to confirm this speed of 72.4 miles an hour? And how many feet did it take to reach this speed?

What makes this thing so fast? Does it use a high compitition engine? I'm just suprized that it can smoke a n4tec even tho the 4tec probably has a better engine(2.5). Any one have the engines specs? Is it just the gearing that makes it go that fast?, cuz if it is then i bet got some crap accel. People who have it please tell!!

That actually looks like a quality kit except for the electronics and body. Looks like a nice quality chassis and what not. I mean honestly it should do close to the rated speed with the three speed tranny.
