New esc came with an IC5 connector.

Fancy as this speed control claims to be, with sensing stuff through the IC5 connector....with a 3rd wire....so I opted to buy the spectrum battery with matching IC5 connector...and a new charger adapter....and a wheelie bar since everything is coming together as well as it is.

After watching too many videos, ordering this car, and going through the building process ....the learning does not stop.....I imagine the learning curve is steep on the first drive too,lol Today, all my learning, and research says an extra ounce of lead front and center is good plan

Major front suspension improvement. I assembled the front end per the instructions. Light silicone oil, parts in order etc. The kingpin movement felt sticky. It would bind a little in the beginning, and then free up. Took the steering blocks Off, and used this reamer.

Just enough on both ends of where the king pin moves through. Making the opening a bit wider , and tapered leading in. Reassembled with white lithium grease. Now light pressure the front springs start to compress immediately, and stays smooth through the rest of the travel. $0 ...my favorite!

So I have done a lot of research on drag racing, weight distribution, and so on. I'm a guy that likes to try his own ideas, so the chassis layout is a bit unconventional. Allows for even weight distribution side to side within reason. Has a weight forward bias to make the wheelie bar more decorative, but there if I need it. Major emphasis on doing the best I could with cable management, and security of each element. Everything up on standoff to accommodate running wires underneath for a cleaner look, as well as providing the esc with extra exposed surface area to stay cooler...maybe. still gonna be a bit before it first run, but things are looking good, according to me. Front suspension smoothed out, extra lead weight out front, steering linkage sorted, 25t pinion gear upgrade, front wheels shimmed to eliminate side to side motion, etc....onwards and upwards. This is what racing is all about!! I bring my A game, and so called bright ideas to square off against yours....see you soon!!

IT'S ALIVE!!!!
Looks AWESOME!!! 😍😎😁 It SOUNDS fast too! 👍
Always be sure to turn your transmitter on first, RC second... then RC off first, transmitter off next.
You could get a runaway if you power up the car without a signal telling it what to do (and not do).
That could be a LOT of chasing with a car like this! 🤣

Nice job keeping everything looking clean and organized.

Curious, did those body mounts come with the car? Was the body included or are there choices from RJ?

That body mount set up is exactly what I suggested @Beer_Goggles_RC use on his van body.

Bolink/RJSpeed still doing it right after all these years!

I can't wait to see this car RUN!!! ❤️

Thank you!! Body and mounts were supplied with the kit
I think I have a set of mounts from Bolink or Duratrax from 25 or so years ago! 🤣 They work great!
I can't wait to see it all painted up! Got any colors in mind?

I'm sure there will be more than 1....but I am a man with strong preference for anything lime green....

I guess so!!! Easy to spot in a crowd! 👍😁
It will prob be faster with that color too! @DavidB1126 has done testing on yellow vs white wheels. Yellow won I think! 🤔😉🤣

I saw this one but didn't realize the green stripe was the signature. 😉👍
I see here just in the picture, the car is ALREADY FAST!!! 😎

No prep drag racing feels like a lot of prep so far....
30 minutes to an hour of wrenching to make a 2 second pass that was just a little faster than your last one lol

Lookin' good! :thumbs-up:
Watching the video you can see the front lift when I punch it on the bench stand, but with the weight balance levels right out. The tires are spinning fast enough for some foam expansion. Says nothing about what will happen when the tires have traction though. It's not going near asphalt till the wheelie bar shows up. Probably another week. I have lots to do before then anyway.

What is to be the "competitive" arrived today. Right at the 5000mah limit, 2s and with smart tech and a 100c discharge rate. My previous batteries were 80c. Some improvement, not the 150c that would be ultimate. Speed is money no matter what scale.
