i finally got my newly broken in savage 25 to wheelie with 13/49. i caught the culprit, which is the return spring of the carb. when it is attached to the carb. the carb wouldn't fully open that's why i had troubles of finding out what makes my savage run sluggish. but now after about 30mins of happy wheelies and fun time.

got a busted glow plug and replaced it with a new fresh plug. but after bashing it for 15 mins (no overheats.) i left it to idle about 20secs, and it bogged down. when i restarted it, it idles normally for about 10secs, and turns off. what could be the prob? any ideas????i already checked the fuel line for leaks and bubbles. but there are none. what else could be wrong.???

do the spring mod...

As for the dieing at idle problem, you probably need to lean the low speed needle (LSN). Do it in small steps (1/16th to 1/8th turn at a time). What's happening is the crankcase is loading up with fuel and causing it to die. Lean the LSN a tad and clear out the engine by doing some wide open throttle of a few seconds then let it idle and see how long it will run. The object is to get it to idle for at least 10 to 15 seconds without a drop in idle rpm. I tune mine to idle for up to 30+ seconds. When you're leaning the LSN, remember to check your temps at full throttle, because leaning the LSN will cause the HSN to lean also, so richen it a tad. Once you have the LSN tuned so that it will idle for a period of time, you shouldn't notice any lag or bog when you nail the gas. Now retune the HSN to where you like it and you should be all set.
