Hey hows it goin, first post here.

So back about 6 years ago I bought the lovely Savage 21, and after 3-4 years of it being in retirement, I have brought it back, however there are some issues, and was looking for some imput.

1)I've re-adjusted my high and low end needle, however my car will randomly shut off when driving (usually when gaining speed) and was wondering what can be done for this. More fiddling with the low end needle?

2)I'll randomly loose response from my controller to the receiver, and my car will either do nothing, or just keep on going where it was going as fast as it was going, until it hits something. I'm assuming something needs to be replaced here.

3)When do you want to see blue smoke the most/least.

Any idea's?

Thanks in advanced.

Sounds like you are a little lean if it is cutting off on you. I generally set the needles back to stock, put a 1/4" turn clockwise on the high speed needle and then tune from there. You should see a thin trail of smoke but nothing heavy. Watch your temps to make sure you are in a good range. Every engine is different but i would always tune it until it reached peak performance and then backed off the high speed needle just a touch to make sure i had enough fuel to keep it cool.

If it has been awhile, a new glow plug and fresh fuel is probably a good idea.

As for your radio problem, it sounds like a switch or connection is bad. I've had switches go bad when they are exposed like the savage has. Any time a switch starts fussing, I just replace it.

Or, your servo is dieing. I'd check the switch though. Try wiring the receiver pack directly to the receiver and bypass the switch. If it doesn't do it then, you have your answer.
