Ok so i am back in the nitro world and today reminded me of why i went to brushless in the first place.
I put an axial 28RR in my savage X and broke it in today with some odonnell 30%. Truck is starting to run better and the mill is getting more and more powerful with each tank.
First problem was that there is a SLIGHT wobble in the spur gear and it was binding against the clutchbell in the same spot. The engine can't be moved back any farther and since my slipper is clamped down all the way all the time, i removed the silver disc with the two holes that sits against the slipper pad. This put the disc with the two male tips pressing directly onto the slipper pad. This gave me a hair more room but i can hear a slight jingle when i spin it so they are still barely brushing. Not as bad as before but still a little.
This is my spur/cb combo

second problem is that the truck never seems to shift. It doesn't have a torquey takeoff but it also doesn't have much top end so i am thinking i am stuck in first and i just need to lean my lsn a hair. I tried adjusting it but i just couldn't get it to shift. I got it to shift ONCE but it was freewheeling and was at the absolute PEAK rpm. SHould i just slap a 3 speed in there and be done with it or is there something i can do with this 2 speed to make it shift, or something to check to see why its not.
thats it for now.
I had to go drive the e-savage to feel better about my rc's
