Hey all, sorry for all the noob questions but i really have not much of an idea on whats good
We dont have an LHS, only Toyworld that stocks a few nitros
I'm getting a GV Dominator for my Bday as my first nitro, i dont want a really expensive rig for my first, will NOT be raced only bashing around.
Anyway, I've seen a few cheapies on Amainhobbies.com
What do we all think of HSP?[Ebay]
The 1:10 Stormer and Warhead look O.K i suppose, maybe a bit of fun, seem to go pretty hard
There 1:10 Buggys seem to be going for around 200
Will probably be getting a slash in the not to distant future [AmainHobbies.com]
But any ideas would be greatly appreciated
I'm definatly getting a failsafe, but have no idea what type to buy, nor where to buy, nor how to fit it. :( Any help? Lol sorry

Thanks in Advance, cheers! :D:D

.

Hey
its not stupid questions everyone asked them before
well i woudnt buy from ebay you can but my past experiences have forced me never to buy from ebay again.

If your toyworld? Lol sells nitro
what makes do they have theyre
research them on the internet for reviews etc..
good stock list easy stocks or the shop provides.
just dont buy off ebay.
and remember always check before you buy just because if might look good doesent mean it is..

-Stock of parts
-Quailty
-Brand

Check those
hope this helped

ahad

edit: Failsafes are easy and worth it! only cost £10 and could save your car very easy to install plenty of vids on youtube thats how i found out before i had a LHS :)

Thanks, ok regardless of ebay or anywhere, are HSP any good?
My "LHS" Has a Tamiya Nitrage, Tamiya TNX and a GV Dominator
I've read a few reviews, and the Dominator seems to be the later model of the XTM XT2, which my "LHS" used to have.

Ebay is ok to buy from, just make sure the person you're buying from has a lot of feedback and been around for a few years. That won't guarantee you won't have problems but it will minimize the likely hood of that happening. I bought my Revo new for $400 shipped.

Not sure about those brands, I would think the Tamiya might be easier to get parts for but I have no personal experience with either.

Hey Brad,

If you don't have a LHS handy, eBay is one option but you might get better support & service buying direct from some manufacturers or through towerhobbies.com or similar. The only downside there is replacement parts would also have to be ordered online. If you do decide to go with your local toy place, you may want to take a second look at the Tamiya's. The other brands I'm not familiar with but Tamiya has been around since the early 80's and is a fairly well-known brand so finding reviews, aftermarket upgrades, or parts should be fairly easy.

As for a failsafe, I just picked one up yesterday and installation was very simple. The Dynamite race guard was under $20. It plugs inline between your throttle servo and receiver plug. With most failsafe's you simply turn on your controller & receiver, push the brake on your radio to where you want it, and click a set button. When your nitro is out of range or gets interference from another controller it pulls the brake to the setting you specified.
