Ok, I've decided to go w/ the twisted toys tvps, now, should I get .5'' or 1'' ext lcg?

jextel, if your gonna race, skip the wheelies.
and look around on the boards. i know a few people who run his .05 ext lcg tvps and love em. look for people make the switch to 1/8 buggy racing. they usually have racing tvps up for sale...

as for what else to get, definitely get a nice metal gear servo like the jr 650. more torque the hitec 645 and a tad faster. aside from the tvps and servo, replace things as u break em. and stay away from alum bulks. to much weight for a racers. just get longer machine screw for your stock diff case and the blown diffs dhould be solved...

Ok, now, I have just enough money for a xtm mammoth st if I stretch my resources a little, so I would have just enough money for that and nothing else for it. And I really want to race, and the lhs does not carry xtm parts. But from what I've heard, this truck is awesome, and needs little to be able to race (better steering servo, and radio which I have)

So, my question is, should I go w/ the mammoth st or make my savage a hardcore racer?

well for now i would say XTM only if you feel as if it doesn't need much to be an awesome racer, so that in a few years time when you have more money you can then hop up your savage some and have 2 awesome racers!!! =devil  =devil

I have seen it in action before they started selling them. And it was wayy smooth and the suspension is awsome. But the truck has a poor turning radius. Besides that, it is awsome from what i saw. And then a guy who raced one said that it is capable of passing a Hot bodies lightning stock. But it would be nice to have that center diff. which xtm said they would becoming out with soon. Awsome motor, very sturdy with all the bracing.

Well, I've decided to go w/ hop-ups for my savage instead... I'll finally have a cool car I can be proud of :)

But, I'm still deciding on an engine. So far it looks like I'm goin w/ the sportwerks .26....

get at least a .28, some 23mm wheels & bowties, aftermarket towers twisted or nova, some buggy shocks, a 13t and 15t cb, and a handful of 52t spurs. some nova aluminum clutch shoes for racing only.

and your ready to bash and smash up the track oh and a quick steering servo if ya need one.

Skip, any chance of making a set of those tvps fit the solution cage? it'd be nice to have the whole truck lower without making shock adj.

Ya, I got the bowties, and I don't need new gears or a servo, I'm covered.
And, a .28 would be too much for the track, for racing there is such a thing as too much power. Just about the only good .28 for the track is the RB 28, but I'm not spendin my whole budget on that...

And, why do you say use the nova shoes for racing only?

I just got a .28 but I'm going to try it out if its to much ill make it run alil fatter..lol

nova towers have tons of positions for the ride of the suspension. i picked up some luckly from a guy for $50 shipped new. they run about $60 new + shipping..

heres a pick with them half as low as they can be lowered with ofna ultra lx comp 1/8 buggy shocks.

i just got some proline wabash 23mm hex rims and bowties in yesterday. i'll take a pic of those later and show u my race set up

i say nova aluminum shoes for racing only cause you want them to last and be steezin tat when your ready to use them. use your carbon or teflon or whatever the stock shoes are for bashing. the nova aluminum shoes run about $30 for a 3 shoe set-up.

I wouldnt go with the 28 because it will guzzle down to much gas, i agree with the sportwerx, but u can't go wrong with the xtm 247 motor.
