my dad has always wanted to get an rc airplane, but never wanted to buy it, whats the best starter plane to get, he has never flown one before

It's ARF so it needs all electronics.

Check on You Tube for Slow Stick and you will see why the call it that when it's flying.

What servos and radio would you recommend? (cheap :D )

they have to be a air only radio or something right?

Take a look at this site: http://secure.hobbyzone.com/index/index_park_flyers_rtf/ . These planes have everything needed to get them in the air and parts are easy to get if dad breaks something. I've owned a few of these and although I don't consider myself a flyer even I can keep one in the air. They will take a beating for the first-timer. Most hobby shops carry these planes so you could wait until the day before if you needed to to get one.

Are the mirco's able to fly outdoors easily or are they kind of pointless?

paintball sounds like fun, but i play on a team here and he has never been so he wouldn't go for it

Usually in micro's, they should tell you on the box if they can be flown outdoors as some can't be in winds over a certain MPH.
