Ed what is the diameter of the shaft on the motor? What size are the screws that are used to secure it to the motor plate? I was surprised to see that there was no brace to support the rear of the motor but maybe it's not needed?

By the way, on the third top screw securing the motor plate you forgot to use loctite.

Seriously, I have the Castle motor cooler shroud for a forward facing brushless, and the the scoop is meant to face forward.
Did you check to see if yours are backwards?
