I am looking at replacing my raptors .27 Toki engine with a Fantom .27 or a Wasp.28 I would like to get some opionions on these so that I can try and make a decision.

I find the Toki engine difficult to keep in turn I get it running properly and the next tank it will refuse to run. So far this engine has been a total nightmare and nobody can give me manuals for this so I would like to replace it with something better up to around $200.

I have the fantom in my savage and it runs pretty good so far. only got a 1/2 a gallon thru it so it is still breaking in. but it has good power through the entire powerband

I have hear that the Wasp mill was not all that good. Just what I have read on different forums, not personal exp.

Thanx

I have also seen some negatives on the wasp. Guess I need to look a bit more and possibly at some higher prices as well, I want something that is reliable and that keeps its tune fairly easy. I have been told that Rossi JP are a lot easier to tune.

I would personally recommend the Wasp .28. I own 1 and a friend has one too. We haven't had any problems at all. All we get is horespower and RPM's from them. LOL. They hold a tune good and run like beasts. Both engines are in our savages, which is similar to your raptor, so I would expect you should see the same results.

Anyway, you should check out the savage forum. You will find some helpful info on both engines there. Here are a couple of links to help you out:

Lol, i just bought a Sirio .27 racer. $350... Well, its not the most expensive, but it is some big bux.

danm you definitely have some money i wouldnt buy a enginefor more than 200$, well i guess i could go to 250$ but it better be really good for that money.

The TOP .28 is a really good engine. So is the sirio, but its too long for my maxx, so i'm having a custom engine mount machined for me... I'll be up and running in about 2 weeks.
