Is it worth fitting a fail safe? and whats a good one to go for?

I can't think of a more creative way to say this at the moment, but yes.

As far as which one to use, I use the one on my radio along with an engine kill switch (gasoline 2-stroke) so I don't really have any opinions on nitro failsafes.

high end radios have it built into the receiver. If you use a stock radio, a Venom or Dynamite fail safe is good.

Def worth the money..I have the Ofna Micro Fail Safe on both my rigs, as long as you have good batteries you have nothing to worry about..

If you love your rig man, fail safe is a good investment. As said above, the ofna one does the job for me.

I use both OFNA and Dynamite fail-safes. Won't run a nitro rig without one. Ever. Never.

+1 on the OFNA micro one. Had ran them for years and they saved me quite a few times.

when i bought the truck, it came with a futaba 3pm - fm controller

does this affect the fail safe? would it work ok still?

dont know anything about controllers

Should still work without issue. I ran one with FM and AM without a problem.
