hi i just bought my first nitro car, a redcats tornado bb and i was doing reserch on rc cars so i know what to expects when it arrives on wednesday. well getting to the point i heard of runnaway cars and is this a big issue?
if it is a big issue, how do i avoid it? and is this http://www.xenonproject.com/rc-buggies/parts/redcat-racing-tornado-bb/fail-safe-p-4467.html a good choice or are there cheaper ways or hints, tricks

if you can answer some or all questions i have please do, thanks so much i dont want to wreck:( my first rc.
 
Definitely get a fail safe. Mine ran away when I first got it but luckily it ran out of gas so it was not lost/damaged. That one will work but you can also get them from ebay where I got mine for under $10. It came from China and arrived in less than 10 days.
 
Very easy. Unplug the throttle servo from the receiver. Install the failsafe between the two. Follow the directions to set your set-points. I would go full brake if I were you. Usually you push the button once, then when it flashes you hit the brakes and push the button again. Or something to that effect. Real easy!
 
Yes very just unplug your throttle, And plug the fail safe inline. Just follow the directions. You will be fine it is ez.

does it matter where you plug the failsafe into? i.e. battery pack > failsafe > reciever? or does it always have to be throttle > failsafe > reciever? thanks in advance
 
red cat is a good brand if you break it in rite it will last a long time. i had mine for 2-3years only thing that got broke was second striped (bad mesh on my part) and bent the shock tower a little but other then that they are stroung.

ya it seems to be a nice car except i am having dogbone problems and i havent got it tuned perfectly. its running a bit rich which i guess is good but it doesn't idle for very long, i still need to fine tune the low end needle. but i think i figured out why the dogbones are geting ruined. i think its because I've been driving my buggy in tall grass. so i stopped doing that and i think it fixed the problem
