I've been told to look into getting a fail safe because if my batt die, or come out, my truck will go wide open, and not stop untill it hits somthing. do most of you use one?

I use both a Throttle Return Spring and a failsafe. Reason being is if your battery pack in your receiver goes dead, the failsafe is worthless. The failsafe is good for when you are out of range or if there is something causing you to lose signal. Then it would kick in ONLY if the pack has power.

I would get both a TRS and a Failsafe if I were you.

i have to admit i like to run with a failsafe but as i found out at the RCNT bash it wont always save u. my throttle servo gave its last grunt and my engine took of WOT right into the one wall that goes around the track. nothing broke though. so a throttle return spring would be good too. i picked one up at the hardware store for 40 cents and it looks just like a spring u would buy from the hobby shop..

My point exactly! Use both.

More often then not you'll need a proper Throttle Retrun Spring/setup to save your butt before you need a Failsafe. I run both for total Redundancy. Failsafes have definitley improved over the years as not to long ago they where more heartache then help Some people still love them or hate them. I run the OFNA Mirco and it works great and is tiny.

If your carb falls off, it'll just die because there's no fuel. Silly goose! even my wife knew that.

If it's just the linkage, the trs will pull the arm back. If the actual arm breaks off .. then you're sol. Pull out the cash/credit card ... time to go shopping!

u dont happen to know how to put a TRS on a slide carb do ya? if so check out my thread in the t-maxx forum... TRS on WASP. 18

I thought the Savage 25 comes stock with a throttle return spring?

Ross Any savage is supposed to come with a TRS. I got lucky when I bought my savage used cuz it came with a Failsafe as well.
