i'm looking for a failsafe in my t-maxx, what should i be looking for ? on ebay they range from 8$ to 20-30$, what's the main difference ? i also heard that 2.4 Ghz receiver has them stock, would that be a worth upgrade ?

For a long time I had a Venom failsafe, worked great and was probably $20 or so. But for $40 ish I finally made the move to 2.4 GHz. and its built in. So if you can spare the few extra $$$, id say just go to 2.4 GHz.

If i get a 2.4 Ghz, will it fit into my receiver box? i just found this out http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=SPMSR300WP , is there any other companies that make waterproof receiver ? i'd rather pay a little extra for a waterproof if i'm changing to 2.4 Ghz.

I'm not sure on the waterproof issue,but,most 2.4 receivers are smaller and should fit with no issues.
