Just got these in the mail with a bunch of parts. Need to go through them before anything but I think this will be a great start.

Plan is to keep one for myself and build one for my stepson as a surprise. He's a big F1 fan. I plan to dress it up like one of his favorites but haven't decided which way to go yet. Then I'd like to get a decent budget radio and give him one of my old chargers. But really I'm just trying to lure him out to the track lol

That sounds like an awesome plan! I know he'll love it!!! 😎👍❤️

Started going through these cars and was very confused but I think I have it figured out. I am 99% sure this is a 2017 and a 2018. Not a huge deal to me, but I will update the original post to remove confusion. Cars are in decent shape. Motors I pulled from the chassis are pretty ragged. Idk if that's a good or bad sign yet. The 2018 rear pod was all seized up, but I got that nice and loose. 2017 suspension feels good now. Rebuilding the shock on both. I've got a few sets of tires but no idea what compounds or brands, I think I'll just grab whatever feels good for shakedowns. Friends say initial setup can be tricky, especially for a newbie who doesn't have on road experience or pan car experience. Hoping to get at least one together for this weekend and both ready for an event on the 25th.

What did this guy do to the motor?

2017 has been gone through. Replaced quite a few components and cleaned it up. Rebuilt the diff. Right now has an old 25.5 motor, HW ESC, savox servo. I need to get a smaller battery. These don't take much juice so I'm trying to find something 4000mah or less. I think even as low as a true 3000 would be fine. It has a couple bearings that need replaced so I have those on order. After the fresh bearings I think it will be ready for putting it on the setup station and racing.

Now that's low 🔥

Johnny Lawrence : "I thought you sold Porsches"
Daniel LaRusso : "Yeah! You're dreamin' Johnny!"
(From Cobra Kai, when Daniel had to replace Johnny's vandalized Firebird)
I realize that's probably what I sound like, but you can't blame me for trying?
