The ezstart ain't turnin the motor over. Electric motor works just wanna check over my work. Need gear set instructions w pics if necessary

Can somebody email em to me thanks

If you continually try to start a flooded engine, they will break. Running rich also gums them up. Ruining owb's usually means there is a tuning issue. But they also just wear out and fail. Having a spare is a good idea.

The one way still works should I repack it or not possible?

ole moe maybe on to somethin. does the bearing fit the gear as it should?

Way coushin it never had any. It's the ez start 2 on a tmaxx trx2.5

this is how i do it, iam hopping it will work for you. take the ez-start gear train off the engine. take the housing apart, note there are lots of stuff in there so be carfull. draw a pic if you have to. the white gear that holds the owb is in two pieces. one has square notches that drop into the other half. there should be cushions 4 i think, that take up the shock loads. if yours are no good just cut some fuel line to fit. i dont put oil on the owb. i clean it in methanol. i found some teflon washer to go between the owb and the engine, to sling oil off the shaft. how ever i can not recommend it cause i havent got any time on that mod. if you do that mod be sure the shaft doesn't chew the washers up

I believe there is supposed to be a Teflon washer between the engine and starter from the factory. If it's missing, get one for 'er.

Actually it turns over but won't run right, it either Revs outta control then dies wen I give it throttle. It's actually sealed n not leaking but ain't started it yet. I'll check it out later hopefully it'll run a Lil better. Most likely b bitchin lol. Keep y'all posted. Holla

sorry i should have said that i dont know anything about a ez-start 2. the things i just said are on a reg ez-start. it may not aplay to a ez-start 2. i do not know the differences. i have to assume that there are some differences. thanks to matt for the heads up on the factory washer, i just for got about it.

Anybody no y it revs out of control?I'm figurein tha hsn

One more question, do u need to silicon where the backplate and ez start go together?

The engine needs to be sealed with sensor safe high temp rtv. Backplate, carb throat and header. Sometimes the hsn housing too. There's a few reasons why it could be running wide open. Where's the carb barrel sit when it's supposed to be idling? About a 1mm gap is all there should be. A massive air leak would cause it as well.

so you now have a different problem altogether? revving out of control?

slow things down a little bud. i am not intending to be rude, OK.
youve switched gears on this thread like we are in the same room as you. if your starter is now working that great. but you may consider starting a new thread and giving us a new detailed story and question.

i dont put sealer between th black plastic of the ez-start and the back plate. according to traxxas clean the owb with alcohol, then put a few drops of mobil 1 or marvel mystery oil. i have used marvel mystery oil for 3 decades. its great in the gasoline, your engine will start faster. i only put 2 drops in mine seamed to work fine.
