Anyone know if they make one of these for an Aftershock? Or does anyone know what will work? Pulled the pull cord out when we bought it as it was a pain in the ***. Put a spin start in it and now gettin tired of draggin a drill around plus the backplate keeps breakin on it ... :)

The aftershock is a Team Losi and the EZ start is made by Taxxasif I'm not mistaken, two different companies. I think there is an old thread about how it could be done but it would be a custom job you'd have to build. Hope that helps.

You really should stay with the pull start. It keeps the weight off as well as eliminating what you have to tote around. I guy I know converted an engine to rotostart, and after breaking 6 expensive one way bearings, he was told to use ONLY a pull start. We both hated them at the time. The company sent him 6 new bearings, and after putting on the pull start, we were both stunned by how easy it was to start.
The pull start spins the engine much quicker than any electric start, and if the engine is tuned correctly, it will almost always start on the second pull.

Breaking in an engine can be troubling with a pull-start, but I still run them. E-starts are convenient, but as Rolex said, if it's properly tuned, primed correctly, glow plug is good and heater battery isn't dead, 2 or 3 pulls and it's running.

If you have to yank and yank and yank on it, then something is wrong.

Thanks guys for the answers. We figured that this was gonna be the answer anyway. Got the problem fixed for now. Our LHS never ever had the right drill end for the AS, that's why the backplate kept breaking. But we now have the right part, turned the drill down and everything has been fine since. :)

I thinks the Losi spinstarter is one of the strongest out there.

I've been using the same one for 2½ years.

I've been running my muggy with the 427 spin start for 2 gallons over the last couple months. works great. any 18v set on 2 and half trigger is all you need if the spin starter dies... if you don't have a charger for the 7.2v battery, you can make one using the Losi 6v reciever charger. the other day i got tired of hauling my drill and realized when i bought my lst2 i have another rec charger sitting arround. i haven't fully charged it yet but it looks like about 24 hours (3000mah @ 100mah). and you can't do it by handwithout an offset crank. i need to design one and mill it up.

Didn't AE do that with the MGT at first? Except they used a cast aluminum starter housing.

That looks kind of old too... it's been around a while. It's on the old Mach 26.
