Hi Folks,

I am wondering if anyone has attempted to exchange the blue rubber exhaust piece that comes off the regular pipe with something metal, other than copper (alloy, stainless polished steel). Trips to the local hardware store have brought up some ideas, but no solution. I don't plan on buying a performance exhaust, just the looks again.

Thanks!

I don'tsee why you can't use an automotive hose clamps. They are bulky but I am sure there is a size that will work. Ask Olds97lss...he is our mad Dr Frankentstein.

If you were to use metal you would have to weld it. They have pipes that conntect to a header with a few springs. This would prob look best.

are you talking about the coupler or the little deflector? the coupler needs to flex a little so a solid metal connection may not be best if you plan on running it. now the deflector could be something different if you wanna fab something up.

I'm looking for a replacement of the little rubber angled hose that is ziptied to the muffler, last piece of the exhaust...
All it does is direct the exhaust gas downwards and to the rear.
It just looks silly with all the alloy parts and then the little plastic thing...
I'm pretty sure I'll have to fabricate out of alloy, or stainless steel and polish it. Just thought someone must have had the idea before...

At some point is this Revo of yours gonna catch some air or is it strictly a trailer queen? It looks good, but damn, we want to know if the $$$ hold up.

there is no nipple for the pressure line, you work the tubing into the hole a bit, by the time you have the pipe sitting where ya want it, your 2-3 inch pressure line from before winds up needing some extra. I wound up taking from peter to give to paul to make mine work while waiting on fed ex to bring more. that reminds me, maybe I should put my neighbors weed whacker back together. been wondering why he don't start it up when I start up my truck. hmmm

you could try some alloy tube available at good hobby stores. i did this on a buggy and it looked good....till i lost it. brass tube is also another option since that could be chromium plated (chromed, chrome plated et al).

Just make sure it is a material that will fold or crush and be sacrificial in a bad smash otherwise you could cause damage to the exhaust itself.

the trick to it, is to use a size of tubing that is a tight fit on the stinger when the exhaust is at operating temperature otherwise it will just slip off if not "gripped" in place.
