Hey out there, I was needing some advice on a DTX 18 engine in a ST and BX by Duratrax. What is the correct preliminary setting for the low speed needle? I have a BX buggy but the engines are the same and I know some of you have a truck.
Although I can work on and tune million dollar costruction equipment, this little buggy has stumped me.
Thanks in advance guys.

I have a truck and and I haven't had to touch the low needle to much. It is set flush (I think that is about 2 full turns out).

thanks for the info, I broke the engine in correctly and was running the buggy around and all was well. However the engine would not idle for any amount of time and gurgled badly, loading up.
So I tried turning in the LSN to lean it out some. The RPMS increased as they should when leaning the mix. I did not watch how far I turned the needle in and now the engine will not start below about 1/4 throttle and has hard time running unless on the gas.
Most posts I have saw say to put the needle flush with the carb face and that should be good to start with. At that position it will not start and blows fuel out the stinger tip.
So just looking for an idea where it should be on this engine.

Well i know that the engine is tricky to tune because my friennd has one down the street. But his main problem for tuning his is that the header always comes loose from the engine so check that before you tune it. But even if yu di have it on tight take it back off and lock tight it. Also put some sealent around the pipe......Nick
