:\i don't know anything about electric stuff, so what better place to ask my ?'s
i have a bunch of electric cars , but none work. i need to know will an esc work if it is not programed. i hooked all of them up and get the same problem. the steering works, but no power to the motor. and the motorrs all work. some of the esc's have a setup button but don't know how to set them up . so i need to know will the motor's get power if you don't setup the esc.and if not then why do i have power to the steering servo?

The built-in BEC (Battery eliminating circuitry) is sending power into your receiver to give power to your steering servo. You need to find the manual of each ESC to program it. Most ESC's I know have something basic like: Press button while holding throttle, then press while holding brake/reverse, then press while in neutral. May be different depending on the brand. Do you know which ESC each one is? You can Google for the manual, or at least a way to program it.

Are you plugging the speed control lead into the throttle port on the receiver? Don't plug it into the battery port. I'm no el. guru but that sounds like what you may have done.
Your question depends on the type of ESCs you have, but they should work if hooked up properly. The programming should not affect whether or not the motor works.

yes ' i even made sure ,i checked it twice. but every esc did the same thing.except 1 or 2 didn't even light up.

They MUST be set up properly in order to work. As suggested, do a search for each model # manual and follow the programming instructions. Print it out for future reference.

well looks like ihave a lot of research to do .I have about 8-10 esc's to check.
(and just as many cars if not more)and tons of motors.I just need to get motovated.maybe i'll sell some once i get them going .i even have more nitro cars and trucks then i have electrice.

not unloved just don't know poop about electric,i'm used to nitro.I would love to learn at least the basics about electric cars/ trucks .i have cars (electric):D once i figure out everything i have i will be getting rid of a few but not untill i have everything working or know what they need

Did you try more than one Radio system? They should at least turn the motor once properly connected.

ya,i tried others but the same thing no power to the motor.i will try anain tomarrow .
