hi, running a hobbywing brushless combo, worked perfectly till now....on a fully charged battery that has only been recharged 6 times.....runs fine until i give it full throttle, then it goes cut-out mode.

having said that, full throttle works fine when the wheels are off the ground. this has me stumped, it acts as if its constantly on low voltage cut-out mode.

any ideas?

what kind of battery plugs are you using? maybe your plugs are not letting the esc draw the power that it needs to? i strongly suggest switching to a deans plugs. are you running a lipo battery? if not, get one.

thanks, its running the standard traxxas plugs, i swapped the plug from the esc to a better one because the old one was loose and still have the problem. I does look a tad burnt out on the inside of the new one tho, i'm thinking i might just get a new esc, theyre only 30 bucks on ebay for a replacement one.

One other question, is there any cheap lipo chargers? they all seem quite expensive

Traxxas plugs are pretty much as good as deans. Just bulkier. They won't cause you issues unless the soldering job is shoddy.

i prefer the traxxas hc connectors over deans.

what brand battery?

don't skimp on a charger. the ac/dc Hyperion EOS0606i is a great charger and is just over $100.

+1 that hyperion is a great charger.

It really does sound like it's an amp draw problem. What kinda specs does the battery have, and what's the esc/motor setup?

There's is also the possibility that's your car is overgeared.

Sounds like you might also need a BEC, the Rx could not be getting enough power and cutting out the signal to the ESC.

Now this may sound stupid but is he running the white standard Traxxas connectors (Tamiya plugs) or the black Traxxas high current plugs?

What have you compared it to?
i have compared this charger to many others at the races at my hobbyshop. i wish i could give names of my comparisons but can't unfortunately. theres 5 of the turnigy chargers being used. they balance, and are also alot easier to navigate through than many others. and the price...you can't beat it. I've had mine for a full racing season (and i know others have had theirs for years) I've used teh crap out of my charger and ik its the right one to go with
