As far as I know the Picco .26 Max is the biggest you can get without substantial mods. Direct drop in for $200.

go with the os.18tz itl eat it I'm getting one wed its a drop in and its $150 it would tare about any athier tmaxx up 3.3 a breez

well I have a 2.5 engine. Ok not nessicerily the biggest but the fastest. One that will eat pretty much anything. But still drop in. I realize I have high standards for an engine but I don't want to do any mods at all. I have it exactly where i want it. But i want a different engine.

well try the 3.3 biggest your gonna get with out mods and like i said .18tz would even eat .21maxx 2.5 is slower then 3.3

just probly cvds and maybe trans after awhile so about roughly 40bucks for the cvds trans might hold up i wont no what will hold up till i get her broke in but if you go with the picco.26 every thing should bolt up from your stock 2.5 the .18tz you will have to get a header with a spring some typs of the .18 you will have to cut the shaft down till your left with 5 threds but the .18 is more powerfule then the .26maxx they do sell .18 with a pilot shaft so you wont have to cut just need that header with spring.

Ok so I bid on these on ebay OS MAX 21TM Engine and OS MAX ENGINE TM .18 CVR. will these fit in my tmaxx? I bid like 30 bucks so I will be out bid but I figured i can raise my bid If i want it.

The OS Max .21 tm will be a direct drop in for your TMaxx. The .18 CVR will require some mods to fit, including cutting the crankshaft with a dremel to make it fit.

And Tdog, there's no way an .18 will ever be more powerful than a .26.

If you're dropping a bigger engine into the 2.5 Maxx you will eventually have some problems since the drivetrain is not the best. You might want to upgrade to the newer 3.3 style driveline.

Alright. I stripped a diffy the other day and was wondering if a bigger engine would strip them all the time? Cuz they are hard to get at as it is. SO i want the most powerful one which would be the picco 21? and it drops right in?

No, the most powerful engine you can get would be the Picco .26 max. It drops right in with no mods, other than the new engine mount that it comes with. You will need to adjust your linkages since the carb is slightly different.

You'll be stripping gears left and right with that kind of power though.

So steel spur, steel diff. upgraded drive shaft. maybe some type of time machine so I can go get it when I break the speed of light. and earplugs for when it breaks the sound barrier.

you're gonna HAVE to do some tranny work. The 3.3 tranny is stronger than the 2.5, some guys use those and then if they break upgrade the internals. I have a brand new 3.3 transmission that I might sell if you would like to buy it. I bought it when I was going to put the OS 18 tm engine in my truck, but decided to build a Savage instead.

i will have to think about it. I just bought a crank case for 1.00 a cooling head for 1.00 and a crank shaft for 1.00 , so all I need is a piston and sleeve and i got a new engine

I think it's faster due to it being more controllable.

My revo 3.3 chassis with a 18TM in it was very controllable and behaved very well. When I bought a BB conversion and put in a XTM 24.7, it was stupidly over powered and was pretty much un-drivable. At least comparatively.

I drove the truck with the exact same setup on a MX track. With the 18TM, it was tough to control (rarely hit second gear) due to the roughness. But it was still fun. With the XTM24.7 in it, it was just a pain in the arse and sucked all the fun right out of it. I couldn't wait for the tank to empty.

Made me glad I had my aftershock...

But, as far as brute force/power goes, I'm pretty sure the mid-blocks/big blocks will put out stronger numbers than the 18TZ. It just makes particular trucks unusable unless your bashing.

Well i bash. These parts are for a tmaxx. turns out the parts are trx 2.5 parts. so i hope i get out bid. not that it really matters they are super cheap. I was wondering, I already have a trx 2.5 so could I just put the stuff from my old engine into the new engine? i bought the crank shaft but put everything on it and in the engine?

go with the os.18tz itl eat it I'm getting one wed its a drop in and its $150 it would tare about any athier tmaxx up 3.3 a breez
