As you can see from the video, the engine runs, but as soon as I release the EZ Start, it dies. I have even gotten it to run at full speed, raised up on blocks, but again it died as soon as I let go of the EZ Start. It was just working perfectly a week ago. :(

The compression seems good. I have just replaced the fuel lines with no luck.

1st, buy a new plastic head protector for your 2.5 engine. I would start it on a full tank, see if there are bubbles in the airline. If so, you have an air leak somewhere, probably in the fuel tank. If no bubbles are in the fuel line, you may have a leak somewhere else, maybe your exhaust coupling. If you still fail to find the problem, maybe lean the lsn and see if you can get it to stay idle.

Needs a glow plug or your clutch spring is broke and your shoes are dragging.

WHat's it do if you gas it and hold the RPM's up a bit then let off the ez-start?

I have a glow plug. It was glowing and the engine was burning fuel. Seriously.

I'll look into the other things suggested and come back with results.

Same thing. Dies.

i think its the glow plug to , mine was doing that a few weeks ago just after the breakin runs. or it need to warm up longer.

Well, damn. I guess I'll try a new glowplug before I take the engine apart.

LSN is too rich, that's why it only runs when the glow plug is getting outside power.

Nope.

I don't at all understand why, as the old plug was igniting the fuel, but replacing the glowplug seems to have worked. Now I have identified a leak and am addressing that issue. Thanks for all your suggestions.

Could have been the coating wearing off the coil. They have a coating on them that reacts with the methanol to promote ignition. That's why a lot of times when you take an engine out of storage, your best off putting in a new glow plug. Some can deal with it better than others, but the fumes from the ARO and whatnot over time causes the coil to corrode and then the plug only works when electricity is applied.

Oh! That definitely explains it. I think the plug I was using was all black. I guess the coating wore off! Thanks for all the info. Had fun driving it around while tuning it today. :D
