hey guys,

new here.....i had a question...any of you experience your engine rnning until you touch the throttle then it stalls? I have a new 1/8 tornado truck....i went through the first 4 tanks for engine break in period without opening full throttle. Was no problem....tried it today and it won't stay running. I did what the manual said for the break-in...turned the needle all the way in then back out 2.5 turns......really weird how ran fine yesterday but not today.....i have cleaned the air filter and tank is full of gas....

Any ideas?

hey @speedpg, welcome to the family. How about heading on over to the introductions section section and telling us a little about yourself? As for your problem, I'm not sure, but I am sure a more expierenced member will know and help you figure it out.

try leaning out your hsn a little more, (clockwise), or it could be your clutch, but probaly not, also check to make sure nothing is hung up, like the brakes, but most likely it needs to be leaned out a little

is it normal with the engine off while spinning the tires to hear a metal clanging noise?

BTW i did lean it out to 2 turns from closed instead of the 2.5 still does same thing

well it turns out it was running lean....even though i turned the needle valve all the way in and back out 2.5 turns....still didn't run proper. I kept turning counter clockwise(making more rich) until it ran proper without stalling and at full throttle......
strange since it ran fine day before and no adjustments were made

Welcome to the world of tuning nitro cars lol It changes day by day with humidity and weather

well you need to get a plug thats right for your climate ..

check this..like said before...

clutch/bearings/leaks or air leaks/fuel good or bad?/have a good pressure on tank?

well that noise you hear is most likey not from the engine because when you move the tires with the engine off it has nothing to do with the engine because the clutch is not engauge to the bell gear..

I have the exact same problem with mine

clean your needle valve. after running for a little while/ when refueling any small debris if they got in your tank will clog up your HSN. make sure all of the holes are unblocked after you take it apart. its probably not a tuning problem because if your engine was running fine before, something is blocking fuel

It hasn’t ran good in over 7 years and the fuel is new

yea so the needle valve should be clogged with the gelled up fuel. if you clean that and the carby it should run like new
