Hi, I'm pretty new at this hobby so i don't know much about troubleshooting. The problem is that my Tmaxx 2.5 won't start when i use the EX start. It sound like it going to start but it just wouldn't. the weird thing is that it run a couple of days ago before I opened up the engine. Any input would help greatly.

I use WD-40 to clean the engine and the batteries for the servo and the ez start is new and recharged. I just tried it again and it sound like it almost start but it just won't start.

IS the engine primed with fuel? Your engine could very possibly be trying the burn the wd-40 instead of the fuel.

Also try flushing the wd-40 completely out before you try to start again. Make sure your glow glug is tight as is your exhaust manifold. Make sure fuel is getting to the carb and go from there. Also you mgith want to look into changing your glow glug.

check your indicator lights on the ez start. BOTH should come on if the plug is good and the battery is good. Does it keep trying to turn it over at all? If all this checks out, then I would pull the fuel line to the carb out to make sure the fuel is actually moving through it. If it does your engine may be flooded. Go ahead and remove the glow plug( make sure the head oraface is clean and no dirt is present that may fall into the chamber. once the fuel line is disconnected and the plug is out turn the truck upside down and try to start it. This will expel the fuel in the engine. After reassemble and start over.

yup. what he said. I use a 1.5 cell from Hobbico and the cable to warm up my plugs.works awesome.

I had the same problem and I just richened my mix slightly at it seems to start better

How long are you cranking the engine before you determine that it won't start, because without priming the engine it can take at least 10-15 seconds of cranking but if you prime it, it can be up and running in under 5 seconds. While cranking put your finger over the exaust stinger and watch the fuel line that leads to the carburator you should see the fuel go right up pretty fast (but don't cover it too long or you will flood the engine).
