right so i want to upgrade the engine for my old t-maxx short chassis.
currently its using a 2.5 trx that was probably abused by its original owner as i had to wash a ton of brown tar off the inside and outside.
I'm not looking for competition level speed but rather grunt to make it live up to its name as a truck that can go off road.
ideally i would take a engine that can fit the EZ-start.
a 3.3 is too expensive to ship out here.
I've found a picco p3 .21 engine brand new with an efra exhaust with carb
all for 185 dollars thats 135 euros for me dont really wanna spend more than 80 euros on an engine but this comes with the exhaust and all so ill get it for peace of mind.
i do however have a losi m26ss second hand but its huge and i dont know if something like this would fit on the t-maxx as the crank shaft is fairly long and well its as big as my fist?
will these engines fit and will either one be a marked improvement over a 2.5trx with plastic exhaust?
so far I've got the steel cvd's for the shorter chassis can get the longer front one if nessacary
a foc for the black tranny.
a integry aluminuim 3 piece clutch and flywheel.
bought a 3.3 trans foc and brake disc to find out they dont fit the black trans.

would i have to buy much more if i wanted to fit the m26ss onto the t-maxx other than a bigger chassis, engine mount and cvds?
all in all what do you think is the best option for me?

The best option for you is another 2.5 or a dynamite .19. If you wanna spend the extra money, get an os 21tm....all 3 will go in without mods.
I don't think that picco .21 will fit, and I know the m26 won't fit.

balls i had my heart set on the picco.
how much power can one expect from a 2.5R
the 2.5trx i have at the min is a gutless yoke... it will run about 20mph can't climb or move when leaning into a wall. nowhere near capeable of hopping onto 2 wheels the best it gets is one wheel up when turning at speed.

if your on a budget i'd go for the dynamite .19 it supposed to comparable to a 3.3
the only thing i have heard bad about them is the bearings which are an easy fix for some extra insurance

I would go with the .19 or the 3.3 engines. I dont know why alot of people hate on the 2.5 I have been running 2.5r in several maxx trucks and they all would lift the front wheels, just not in stock trim. Another good engine is the sirio .18 tx for the maxx. prob dont make them any longer though.

that ebay link turned up dead for me... assuming its a US only listing.
there is a 3.3 for sale in ireland without the internals for 50 euros kinda want an engine whole though. i found a dynamite mach 2 .19t for 80 quid will that be more powerful than the 3.3?
i hope the bearings dont go cos theres no insurance for it out here.
so exhaust pipe... what efra pipe do i get for it... ebay is kinda blowing me away with like 5 variants. there are novarossis .12 pipes 1:8 pipes and tons of pipes with different numbers 9901 ect
why couldnt they be classed as (bb/sb - .12/.15/.18/.19/.21/.26/.31 - side/rear)
i wanna sb-.19-rear simple :\

The supercharger is cool but that's all it is,all show no go,Dnt waste your money on that it will only ruin the engine

transmited from a mobile communications device

Sshhh dont say the 's' word on here
I didnt check any of those links but there is a dude on ebay selling 3.3s with no carb for like 80 bucks
But if want something different go the dynamite

ah no id leave it well enough alone supercharger the engines arnt that big and it'd be cheaper to get bigger displacement.
if anything i would be more interested in an actual fuel radiator that cools down the nitro but that would lead to too much plumbing and a high degree of leaks in the event of a crash.

still one can dream...

I was just kidding about the stupidcharger, and the fuel is already pretty cool as it comes through the line. The only real power adders for nitros are fuel, pipes, and porting.

The dynamite 19t is a sweet motor...I replaced the 3.3 in my rustler with one and it SCREAMS!!!

I'm hearing that the match 2 .19t is a second revised model and its not as powerful as the standard dynamite .19.
dont know if the bearing issue has been fixed a youtube poster said he went through 2 bearings in less than 2 gallons and said he reckons its a design flaw with the engine.
anyone else drive these past a gallon and still have their bearings intact?

Mine has over a gallon on it and it's fine, it's actually been sitting for a while now. I don't like the Traxxas header on it, there has to be a way to get a better seal. I need to take the time and try some different seals/gasket/o-rings, anything to get a better seal.
