Hey guys,

I am about to seal an engine for the first time, I am using Permatex Ultra Copper for the backplate and carb and Associated's Green Slime for the needles. After putting the gasket material on the back of the crank case, do I tighten down the backplate all the way or just until the gasket material starts to squeeze? Also, when I seal the carb do I put a thin coat or a bead onto the carb? Lastly, where exactly do I put the Green Slime on the needles? Just the threads or also the o-rings? Thanks guys!

I would tighten your backplate down like you normally would. Put a bead around the neck of the carb up high where it will meet the crank case.
Can't help on the slime. I just got some but haven't used it yet.
