RC Driving Style
hey,
I was driving my car and i went airborne on a jump. After flipping multiple times my car would not move. The engine woud rev and it would sit there. So i figured i must have stripped a gear in my transmission. BTW i have a Traxxas nitro rustler 3 days old. After taking off my gear box, i noticed my clutch bell (gear thing) would spin fast and had no resistance on it. Is this a clutch problem or a transmission problem? Help

Drew

The clutchbell is supposed to spin freely. Could it be that there is something binding up your drivetrain?

Maybe the engine slid away from the spur gear. Sometimes it happens when the engine mount screws arent tight enough and you land some big air.

Do the teeth on the clutch bell mesh with the spur gear? The CB should spin freely. That's normal. First make sure you have them meshed, and when you spin the CB, the spur should also turn.

the spur gear meshes but it might not be a good mesh. I would think if the tranny gears stripped it would slowly get worse and worse. I mean this was just like bam bad jump and REVVVV and no moving. I will try remeshing. I beleive when i had a savage used a plastic baggie in between the two gears is that still a good recourse for meshing?

Thanks
Drew

Thanks for all the help guys. Turns out my planetary gears were messed up. Missing lots of teeth. I got some new ones and re-greased it. Car runs great now. It wasn't even to bad changing the gears!!
