Engine revving way to high

I was jumping my maxx and it landed upside down and instantly died. When i restarted it the engine started revving really high, high enough that it completely ruined my spur gear. The throttle and everything look normal but i can't get the engine to calm down.

you either cracked your carb or broke something causing a major air leak into your motor

Make sure your pressure line didn't come dislodged. Suicide's probably nailed it. Something broke somewhere. Check 'er over good and replace the carb if there's even an inkling that it might be damaged. They're cheap, and it will keep you from having an aggravation overload.

one of my buddies trucks done that when he jump'd hisin an stripped the motor mount bolts an it moved the motor far enough away from the spur to strip it out!! just a thought tho..
