I have a sirio .18 in a maxx. This is a brad new motor. Only about 15 tanks run through it. Usally it runs great. But today i go to get my maxx and head to my bash site with my 3 bash buddys. Before i go i get my box and go to tune my car in the drive way/road. Pulled the the pull start and it started right up. Tuned it and headed to the bash site. What do you no. When i get there my buddys start there trucks and are off bashing. I'm spending quality bonding time with my maxx. I go to pull it and its real hard to pull and almost feels like the piston is snaging on soomething. I ignore it and pull another time. Now its even harder to pull and is coming out in sections like the pustion is snagging a certian spot. I pull agian and it comes out smooth. But my starter wont recoil. I'm sitten there thinkin to myself this sucks. I wind the starter manually on my flywheel. Pull it agian and the same thing. Took my pull start off and it recoils perfecty. Put it back on the motor and it wont recoil. Now i have absoluty no compressin at all.
And my sirio .18 does not work. I have to spend they day watching my friends and taking my truck home in pieces. Can someone give me an idea as to whats wrong?

Sorry for the long post

I have had the engine torn apart (pull starter). Trust me its not the pull start. One more thing with the engine apart (back plate off and cooling head off) when i turn my fly wheel (now anyways)
it usally takes a few turns(3-6) before the the piston even moves. Not shure if the crank moves did not look. I am almost positive this is not normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appriceated!!

I had the same prob. with my p/s, I was using the TRX p/s and had to loosen the screws that hold it on. If I had them tight, it would not recoil. As for the piston not moving, that sounds like the f/w isn't tight, or you got some other major problem, like a busted crankpin. Tear it apart and sheck it out just to be sure. Hope this helps.

I think you might be right about the crankpin:clap:

Are you sure it's not the 1 way bearing. The 1 way is the one that only engages one direction but it free the other direction? It's the where the pull start connects to the engine.

My p/s housing was binding if I tightened the screws too much, but the one way could be fouled and cause the same prob.
