can anyone help me out? i've broken 2 stock engine mounts today! is there a brand that makes a stronger than stock mount? any info would definitly be appreciated.

I broke quite a few when I had the maxx. Don't buy integy's, theirs sux. Really soft and the bolt holes strip really easily.

NewEra makes a nice beefy one. I bought it, but never installed it. Between the time I had ordered it and received it (about 4 days), I got a bug up my butt to convert it to a 21 maxx. But it was a nice engine mount. I sold it a long time ago, but I'd reccomend it.

The stock cast mounts suck! I replaced mine on my maxx a loooong time ago with a billet aluminum mount and never had another problem. Which version maxx is it? I have one in great, almost new condition for a gen one maxx that I could give you a good deal on. PM me if you are interested.

broke the original one almost a year ago, now on another engine and the billet one from traxxas is still going strong, even with bigger head and lighter, higher flying truck now that still has bad landings, haven't broke that one YET

Stripped threads, especially in aluminum, is usually the users fault, by over tightening the screws.

Not saying thats what happened in your case, just in most cases.

It's what happened in my case... Not saying anything different. I just thought the tapped portion of the bolt holes was kind of a sloppy tap and weaker than what I thought it should have been. I use losi wrenches and the handles don't allow for a lot of torque to help prevent stripping. I tightened them until the felt snug... at least the first one I tightened and it never got snug, it just stripped. The other 3 I tightened until the lock washer was flat then I stopped.
