Amen brother...I'm hoping this was after a full length main. Is that my sons truck? Kiddin bud..seriously Under the cooling head is a copper ring gasket. Check and tighten head bolts if needed. Clean it and run, see if it leaks. I chased my tail once cause I didn't tighten the resonator set screw, so the body would shift and I had crap everywhere...

It looks like its coming from the front bearing behind the flywheel.

well thanks for the best advice i got lol not to sure what the copper gasket would have anything to do with it being behind the flywheel? but i think i will just throw out the junky 2.5 and get the .28 want to have the power to stand it up pretty disappointed with the low power of the engine

when you clean the motor you have a good idea where the leak will be coming from as it will be the only dirty spot.... dont run it off road while your doing this as the dirt will just get everywhere. once you know where the leak it coming from you can go from there... if your running too rich well thats an easy fix. if your not running rich then something needs to be attended to.

looks like i will be pulling the engine off today to clean her up nice and pretty and might just seal everything while i am at it. What is the best thing to use to seal the engine?

If its behind flywheel it is your front bearing and all above about too rich will cause it to spring leaks at the bearing. I would replace both crank bearings and just seal the backplate and carb body upon reassembling. I'm fixen to do the exact thing to my 2.5R tomorrow eve.
