Ok : I needed a new engine so off to my HS I deal with 80% of the time thay dident have in stock the TRX 2.5 I needed for my MAXX.. So I decided to try another HS about 30 min away & never dealt there before I get a TRX 2.5R get home great wrong model thay sold me a 5209R I need the 5207R so I call the HS up & explaine to the MGR I have the wrong motor I need to exchange it for a 5207R the MGR get's into a mood with me & say's its the right motor I told the MGR yes its a 2.5R but not the 1 I need for my MAXX.. MGR said its the only 2.5R traxxas makes I told him hes wrong & theres like 2-4 verions of the 2.5R currently so not being able to get a store CRDT or RETURN. I boldly told MGR I am reporting his HS to the BBB for poor service & swore to never deal with that HS again.. Called up my HS told them to order me a 5207R HS staff said no problem I paid for engine & will have it in a few day's

Well you could always ebay a new pull crank & toss it into your multi shaft engine to make it an IPS engine.

must ask, y didnt you just upgrade to the trx3.3?

Well I was thinking about the 3.3 powerplant but decided against it because of the Transmission that came in the MAXX & decided to stick with the 2.5 I have the Classic with reverse. but already having replaced the gear's 2 times I am thinking a forward only convert is the way to go... :whhooo:

I can't find the difference right now but isn't it just the crankshaft?

Yes it is the only difference in the 2 motors

As far as performance goes the FOC gives big improvements. Besides the weight in the tranny your also shaving off the servo weight as well.

Yea when I get some money I plan on getting the FOC @ my HS I am getting tired of tearing out my tranny to replace the gears I have done the replacment 3 time's already
