I have an original Nitro MT with a modified .15FE, all aluminum & titanium parts, pretty fast as is, but I'm looking to upgrade. I was looking at the OS CZ turbo .18 & an OFNA hyper .18. I need some suggestions on high performance engines. Should I just go with a .21 ?

If you still want your truck to handle how it does, stick with a small block. A good friend of mine dropped a .25 in his MT2 and it was fast, but pretty uncontrollable, too much engine for that truck.

This is the engine I would think will be best for you, http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHLV9&P=ML The HPI .18SS isn't bad either, but the OS is probably faster.

Os

do you know if that engine will drop right in like the .18SS ?

These are the cheap ones: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXN373&P=ML

But they allow the engine to move around a bit... I had a HPI NMT and I installed a OS 18 cv-r(x) without much hassle. It's a side exhaust just like the 15FE and 18SS.

You will want to get a better pipe than stock regardless what engine you run. And if you run a side exhaust, I'd get a better header as well. The exhaust system that is stock on that rig is poor quality as far as performance goes. It robbed a lot of power out of my OS18CV-R(x).

I also re-did the throttle a bit because I didn't like the stock horn:

Nice, I'm probably gonna go with the O.S. 18TZ-TX w/Rotary Carb, and the purple aluminum mounts cause all my other parts are matching. When the .15FE was modified, the exhaust was changed to an HPI tuned pipe. When I get the new OS, I will need a Rear Exhaust right ? which one do you recommend ?

thanks

It might depend on if your getting an engine with a pullstart or if you intend on using a bump starter.

The only rear exhaust SB's I've messed with were traxxas.

After a little digging, I found this one: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=HPI86163
Says it's for the RS4 NMT. There's a long and short one. But I have a feeling the short one is for the on-road series of the RS4.

Here's a link to the short one:
