I am relatively inexperienced to nitro cars. I have an OS .12 CVR now, but I am sick of having to use the bump start if it stalls or crashes. (back yard bashing only, I dont race). I am thinking of getting a pull start engine that will work with my existing setup and am not sure what is the best for my buck. OS .18 CV-RX pull start or the Fantom .18 pull start. I have read good things about both. My questions are:
Which will be the fastest and last the longest before rebuild?
Which will be the most reliable?
Easiest to find parts, rebuild costs, etc?

Any thoughts and insights are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Larry

i would go with the OS cause they are easy to tune & get parts for.......last a good while too from my experience.........all my engines are OS ones except for a wasp28 & that one i dont like........hard to tune right

It's tough to beat an OS for a bashing rig. The 18 cv-r(x) is a decent engine. Good power, starts easy, holds a tune all day and the tuning window is pretty wide. The OS is probably easier to find parts for as well.

The OS .18 TZ is just retarded with power, but I don't know if it comes with a pull start.

An RC10GT.

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to go with a OS .18 CV-RX.

.18 might be even too much for that rig. a guy at my track had the .18 cr-rx in his rc10 and it would not stay strait, he went back with the os .12cv-rx and was one of the fastest at our track, but you did say you were bashing. if you do go with a .18 go with the os.
