It was rather odd because my bb seemed to break in completely after the mandatory book recomendation the thing rocked. My hyper seemed like it was still breaking in after almost a full gallon of fuel and you could literally see the small fine metal shavings until almost a gallon had been through it. Now, while being a little harder to start, my hyper rocks.
 
It's just like Forest said "Momma always said nitro engines are like a box 'a chocolats".......

My Hyper 8 was a snap breaking in. 1 idle tank, 2 putt-putt tanks, started leaning for 3 to 4 tanks, now tuned at 250 and it starts on the 2nd or 3rd pull and screams. The new 21bb is a bit crankier, but it seems ok, just getting to the 250 range and it's in my backup truck so I don't run it as much (bash buddy and spare parts truck...)

During breakin, the hyper was slobbering clean oil from the first tank. Last time I looked in the cylinder, it was pristine with no carbon or scoring. Guess I got lucky for once.
