i have a t-maxx 4908 w/3.3 some mods. last week i blew the clutch bearings, then in less than 10 min blew them again, and the spring on the clutch came off, and one engine brkt to frame bolt gone and one very loose. the shoes look fair. i had to open up the engine slots cause i put a 72 tooh gear on. i know how to set the backlash, but i think its out of squiare. is there a trick to square the engine? there seams to be a lot of stuff in the way.

I haven't had any problems gettingone square by looking at it. Are you sure when you slotted the holes there's enough clearance everywhere to slide over and stay square?

well the slots are off a little. i worked them over with a small file. i think ill just go back to a 58 tooth spur gear. thanks

i think i may get a new frame, and NOT slot it. i think i trashed by sloting it longer.
