Hi guys, I have a question on eng temp I run my eng at about 210 but when I put my body on the temp goes nuts it climbs well over 260 I richen it up to bring the the temp down but it seems that I have to richen it a lot and when I turn off the eng and restart after it cools it wont start my body has sufficient vents in it, how do I keep the temps down do I need a fan or a better cooling head or do I run with out a body

260ish still isnt a horrible temp for a 2.5 or 3.3 IMO. A little on the warm side but not horrible by any means. Have you sealed the engine? The airleaks will cause havoc with your tune which may lead to you running hotter than you would like. Just a thought and my .02
 
no air leaks I know that for sure the temp out side today is 58 the temp on my 3.3 was running at 250 to 270. With the body on and 212 with it off is that normally ?
 
From what I've been reading, 200-300 is OK. Probably better if you keep it down in the 225 to 260 range if you can. Weather conditions are going to determine how your motor runs. If you haven't done it (and don't know if you want to!) you can cut most of the windshield out of the body and increase the air flow across the motor. I will look for a real good article on tuning that I read and post it for you. (If I can find it!)

do you have any holes cut in your body to let air get to your engine? if not,thats why you have problems controlling the temps with the body on.
 
I have the windshield cut out completely and a very large hole over the eng
 
ok I found out what is going on, when I sealed the eng I got some RTV in the header and blocked it a bit, I cleaned it out and very carefully reapplied RTV and reinstalled now its all good thanks guys for trying to help :)
