I've been looking for some rechar.batteries that I could buy from a local store and this is the highest wattage I found so far. Do you guys think these batteries can handle my nitro car??
I hope they do becuase its 4 batteries and charger for 25.99. I think I even got some bestbuy discounts on it.

4 rechargeable 1850 mAh NiMH AA batteries

I should have mentioned that i dont have a credit card so its gotta be a local store :(

yes they can handle your car. but if your gonna use aa's make sure you put a zip tie or two around the batt adapter, cause if one pops out on a landing or something that cars on auto pilot.

rofl I learned from that. lemme tell ya, that happened about a year ago. My car went full speed through a crowded parking lot and caught every1's attention and bam car crashed and the only thing recovered was the body and engine. Everything from failsafe to crystal to even all 4 tires were a 100% done deal. What made it funny was that I was chasing the car lol. I bet you could imagine that. Me running 7-10 mph and the car going 50+. Anyways atleast the crowd found it funny seeing something unknown on 4 wheels coming at them at 50+mph on the ground. lol I was lucky the car didnt go up a ramp and into a store front window.

Luckily there was a major problem with the car from the manuf. I got it fixed without busting out my pockets

oh man, I was at the store and I was about to buy the energizer rechargeables and a guy told me to look at some hump packs instead.

Now I'm back @ the decision table. I dont have a credit card so I can't buy from websites. So I'm gonna have to go to the 3-4 local hobby shops and decide on a hump pack. I know 2 of the shops stock heavily on ofna products.
So this pack might be 1 I might have to get.

is this a good 1?

If any1 buys hump packs from there local hobby shops can you suggest a good company to go with?

I really need help becuase the local shops I go to are all about the $$. I dont want to have to rely on what they say because it will most likely lead to the dead end street called Mo' Money lol. I just wanna goto the Lhs with a good brand in mind and not rely on them telling me about this and that.

I'm sure others will have a different opinion but most of the hump packs on the market will do you just fine. You will do yourself a favor by getting a name brand pack at a reasonable price and spending the real money on a good charger. The inexpensive chargers have been known to trash a battery set in no time. If you forget to unplug it or don't get the timing just right you run the risk of starting a fire.

Look for a peak charger that will automatically shut off. The Super Brain is a good unit for a great price.

in case you didnt know rechargeable AA's are 1.2v not 1.5v like regular AA's. so you will have 4.8v, a hump pack will give you 6v. a hump pack is the way to go imo. but the AA's will get it done.

Good Point Werks21.
Most hump packs are 5 cell rather than the 4 cell AA setups

1.2 x 4= 4.8v
1.2 x 5= 6v

6 volts will give you stronger servo action and will speed them up as well.
can't go wrong.

thanks for the info fellas. And yea I'm going with the humps. I use to buy 4 duracell ultras that would last for 2-3 out-ings. But man I'm sick of buying em.

That Super Brain looks like a monster. Only problem is it requires a credit card :(. Are there any alternatives that are just as good from places like radio shack, homedepot, local hobby shops, etc?

Since some of my lhs are basically ofna stockers, I might have to buy an ofna charger. I seen 1 with peak for 40

If any owns 1 please let me know if its worth buying.

it will get it done but if you plan on charging 7.2 packs for electric RC i would recomend a better charger.

Ask your LHS to order something in for you.
The charger you mentioned seems over priced for what it is.
For somewhere around the same price you can get something better.

na no electric here,

K ed ill try to get them to order something. Lets see what they say.

I believe that tower will deliver COD. They will tell you the exact price and you can have a money order for them.

Have you thought about getting a PayPal account?

hmm i 'm even thinking about trying to borrow a friends cc to get that Super Brain

for 10 bucks more it looks like you get alot compared to the ofna

i dunno about paypal. People keep telling me there's holes in the system

sorry to bug ya again but. So far I'm thinking about getting the ofna hump and possibly the Super Brain. I noticed something though. The Super Brain plug is 2 and the ofna seems to be 3. Are they compatible?

It's 3, but only 2 are contacts.

I use RadioShack 2000MaH Ni-MH bats. I bought a charger from them that was designed to charge packs that they sell that are modular for some of thier toys, but it charges high capasity NiMH or NiCad from 4.8 - 7.2 volt packs. I made 5 cell packs out of the AA's and used some battery ends like the one in the pic above. I charge them every time I decide to run. With the bat packs and the charger I soldered leads on (I'm a tinkerer), I charge for about 45min- an hour depending on how low the packs are.

I charge them up to about 6.5v and it will last me about 5-6 hours of runtime running high torque non-digital servo's on both my maxx and my savage. I've made 4 packs, 2 are NiCad and 2 are NiMH. NiCad's don't mind the cold as much as the NiMH bats, so I use those in the winter and the NiMH's in the summer.

Dont Knock Paypal.. It Is Secure As Paying Through A CC Online.
EBay Users All The Time.Hmm Check For A Hump Pack And A Charger On EBay. Alot Of Sellers Take Money Orders. And You Can Get A Hell Of A Deal If You Pay Attention And Watch Closely.
