What are your thoughts about electric vs nitro rustler. If i can't get nitro I'm going vxl what would you recommend. I have to convince my parents i wont get caught on fire and blow up. I like the rustler and it is affordable. Thanks

Umm. With electric RC's there are 3 main types of batteries. NiCd, NiMh, and LiPo. LiPo batteries are more effecient, and will last much longer runtimes and put out more voltage, but the ESC must be able to handle it. Such as the VXL brushless systems that Traxxas has.

You should do research on the different setups that the vehicles that you are looking at. That should enable you to be able to properly setup, run, tune, and all around have a better time with your RC's.

Ermull, If your parents are still unconvinced about the safety, then I'm afraid its a nitro car for you, and the Nitro Rustler is a beast. With the 2.5r it has all the power you need in a chassis that size and weight. They're awesome.
If they let you go electric the VXL is faster, easier, (if you have more than 1 battery) and lets you have loads of fun without carrying a workshop and fuel station around with you. Plus no afterun maintenance or tuning problems.
If I had a clear choice of the 2, and didnt need the sound of the nitro to have fun, then go VXL.
Nitro is a full time job......

other way around they are not convinnced about the nitro. sorry i mixed you up.:D
