i'm getting a brushless engine (feigao 9XL) here in the near future. in the mean time, i need to make a mount for it.

my question is, do all motors have the same mounting dimensions?

what is the spacing on the 2 screws, and what's the screw size?

is that it? i'm not sure what that 84 is... but mines to be a 540C XL. so, 4 screws and 25mm spacing?

All 540 size motors will have the same spacing between the motor mount screws. The screw size is an M3. You'll only need two screws for mounting the motor. The holes on the mount should be slotted to allow for gear mesh adjustment.

Also, try to incorporate a support or brace in the mount for the rear of the motor. The XL motors weigh 14.3 ounces, nearly a pound of weight that has to be supported by two small motor mount screws. The rear support will certainly help save your motor when you jump, and also keep the motor aligned under torque.
