Hello, having once again broken the pull cord on the EB4 I set about installing a roto start instead. Order the module and fitted it but found that it does not fit 100% perfect. It’s about 2mm proud of being flush with the engineer alloy. If I tighten up all four screws it fits but won’t turn.

If I reverse the bearing and then fit the unit it’s all good but of course needs to spin clockwise instead of the normal anti clockwise direction to start the engine.

Now of course I can use a slow battery drill to start it but I’m not sure if this could cause other issues.

The roto start module If 2mm thicker would have worked fine.

Anybody got any ideas?

Fashion a gasket to take up to difference?

Sounds like you have an 8mm shaft and a roto start designed for a 6mm shaft. If it were me Id check the Sullivan Tiger Drive website compatibility chart and see if they make one specifically for that engine. HERE is a link to it.

Tudo's suggestion could work too.

many of my local auto parts stores have gasket sheet for sale.id make my own.
