East Coast Bashfest Suggestions?

So you will be in FL. in November? If so I'm going down to Tampa on Nov. 1 til Nov. 8. I'm bringing my RC's if u want to bash.

I would definately be into that, I am about 1 1/2 hours from tampa. I have a friend in Sarasota, he is a member here as well, although not very active lately but he would come too.

Ok - here is my 2 cents.

1. To know my wife and I you would never ever ever think you were imposing or causing us any extra work by popping in and making even a weekend of it. Our house IS the 'go to' house for the entire family and all the friends. There are CONSTANTLY people coming in and out like a Whorehouse in Vegas. My wife is Italian for a reason hehehe They do know how to cook if you let them.

2. I would welcome a bash here anually, bi-anually, quarterly, monthly, and weekly. We only get a couple of months a year here to enjoy. Bashes are ALWAYS welcome and I assure you the wife does not mind in the least. If she did, YOU ALL would have known. She doesn't hold back for poop. Just ask Woodie....

3. The only reason the kids werent here is because WE, the wife and I, needed a break as well. No more, no less.

4. There should be bashes all over the country all year round. No need for set locations. Just pick one and go with it.

Buffalo is always open and my wife and I will always welcome everyone. That is just how we are. The only notice we ask for is the phone call from the driveway so we can put our clothes on.

My wife actually had a blast. I think now she has a second RCNT boyfriend to boot..... Ohhhhhh T.J........... lololol

my wife's first post and she's already telling everyone i'm a tightwad. florida would be cool. my only concern is that it would be quite expensive after airfair, hotel, car rental, and amusments. i may have to work weekends at burger king to finance this trip.

NA, my wife works in a doctor's office. If the doctor takes a vacation, the whole office takes a vacation. Hence, which weeks we take for vacation are out of our hands. Wendy won't know her vacation schedule for next summer until sometime after January.

chris, you're too kind. if i were to host it, i know it would be a lot of stress for me. i wouldn't mine doing it once or twice, but every year would put a cramp in the summer plans. besides, would you guys compalain about a trip to orlando? the kids would have a blast anyway.

Rob - honestly, I plan on attending as many as possible. I'm in my prime for travel years and plan on doing a lot now.

So if I have to go to Vegas, Orlando, Cali, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Indianna, North Carolina, P.A. or whatever other state becomes an option, it will be all good if I can schedule it accordingly.

We just love to host and party at our place. More than you know.

I agree with this totally. Lets perhaps look at the hobby of Amateur Radio. Every last weekend of June, they have what is called "Field Day" They all come out, all over the country in their groups and clubs and clicks and set up out in the field for the weekend. Nation wide hams all out having a blast at the same time all over the country (I used to do this ... KC2CAU is me).

I'm curious as to how spread out we currently are. Any statistics?

Hey EB, although I am not a ham my father is, W4IR now, he was WB4OSN back then. I have attended several field days with him and his radio club. We used to go down to long key state park, and set up right there in a camp site right on the ocean, it was a great time. I would help them set up then I would fish all day and hit the tiki bar in islamorada each night.

Not really a novice since I don't have a RC of my own , no purple and silver machine for me, yet!

ANd yes Rob is a tightwad. There the truth is out. And as for vacations I am stuck going when my boss goes, I am very vital to my office and they can't function without me. :classic: (or so they think)

Here is an idea, everyone come here and help Rob build a track and jumps in the back yard! Work one day bash the next.

The whole holiday weekend from friday night to Monday was just crap. We were house bound for most of it and my wife was pissed I spent the hours I did on the hobby. We had to take a drive anyway after the whole pull start crap. We just had to get out.
