e-maxx or e-zilla(e-savage)

i already looked through the fourms and i found some good info. i already have nitro trucks and there just too messy and sensitive for me
i want to get a electric truck mainly for bashing...

my lhs sells the e-maxx for $320
e-zilla-$325

i know they have the e-savage but its not online..the only difference is that it comes with 2 batteries and charger? right?/ same truck as e-zilla?

i like doing big jumps or driving off my roof. which truck would be better for that?

also what are the real top speeds using 6 cells NOT 7 cells packs????


can the e-zilla wheelie like the e-maxx?

which one has a longer run time using 6 cells?

also which is easier to fix? and what upgrades are reccommended the day i get it?

Go with the E-maxx. It is better from what I have heard. You can use T-maxx hop-ups/parts with the E-maxx, but you cannot use Savage hop-ups/parts with the E-savage. The E-maxx has been around longer, and parts are easier to find. RCCA has a video on their site. Go to the home page, scroll down a little, and there is a "new video" icon and a picture.

If you want to save a little, order the emaxx from ultimate, its on sale for 299 (including free shipping).

E-Maxx:

Pros:
1. Huge aftermarket
2. Traxxas support network
3. |Ton of info on the web to consult. Ton of hop-up potential.
4. Some people like the 2 speed capability
Cons:
1. Heavy truck |(Heavier than an e-sav|).
2. Steering servo isn't great.
3. Does not come with a charger or battery packs (important if you are just starting out|)
4. The battery trays are a little tight if you use 4200 packs etc.

E-Sav:

Pros:|
1. Slightly faster than an E-maxx stock.
2. Comes with a dual charger and battery packs (nice value)
3. I like the esc on the e-sav better than the max's
4. Truck handles quite well stock and is great fun to jump
5. The slipper clutch on the e-sav is very nice and can handle brushless.
Cons|:
1. Driveshafts are weak
2. Differential bevel gears blow
3. You cannot run heavy tires on this truck because you will snap driveshafts, or you will break diff bevel gears. (One run on a e-sav with heavy tires and slipper 1.5 turns out = snapped bevel).

Great Choice. The Emaxx is a great truck, and I have found it easy to work on, and a blast to drive. I also have a hopped up Tmaxx at home I don't use much and I was able to take the hopups off of it, and bolt them right on the Emaxx.

Now if it was me, I would try finding a nice used modded Emaxx on ebay before I shelled out 350.00 bux on a new truck. Heck, it doesn't take much to convert a Tmaxx to an emaxx

Emaxx vs esavage

I cannot say anything bad about eithier truck

I have love for both traxxas and HPI. However in this situation I would lean more towards the HPI product. I have owned several traxxas products and I own several HPI products. I lean more towards HPI on this class due to the first hand experience I have had with emaxx vs esavage. A buddy ownsa a completly stock Emaxx and I have a completely stock Esavage. both using the same battery packs 4200 series made from same manufacturer. The Esavage was faster and handled much better than the emaxx. I admit my buddy has already ordered many many many parts for his emax which I am sure will desimate my savage once the parts are installed, but out of the box and no hopups. I was all smiles. My only concern is with the drive shafts. I am sure that the aftermarket will produce products for the Esavage. first hopefully the drivetrain but that weakmess was known. I choose HPI and have been estatic about the car in its stock condition. Really the fun factor on both trucks to me are the same. I just have to wait and see if aftermarket parts are coming
