Ok I had to buy a new vacuum ( if you read my other posting guess where my old one is) so I bought a Dyson DC17 Animal. And I got a chance to test it out at Mom's house on her super clean rugs. Now Ill have to tell you Mom has a $1200+ vacuum that has water in the bottom to catch dirt, dust, mice whatever gets in her way.

Well Mom saw the new vacuum in the back of my car and made me pull it out, she looks at the box and says it's not going to work as good as mine. So we pull it out of the box and put it together ( not much to put together 5 min if you have a brain) and look at it. Ok she says plug it in lets see if it works. So I turn it on and here I just vacuumed yesterday your not going to get much.

This damn thing sucked up so much dust I ended up haveing to do Dads TV room the bed rooms the hall the chairs and anything else she could think of.

Needless to say it passed the Mom test with a 10 rating. So if your looking to get a new vacuun The Dyson DC19 Animal is one to take a long hard look at.

I will have to check it out.

We have been using the same vacuum for the last 18 years and even though it still works, I just don't think it's getting most of the crap out of the carpets.

I just use my leaf blower.

It's not so much about cleaning the house as it is about redistributing the mess....

We have a Siberian Husky.. and a Dyson Animal. They get along very well :) Very good vacuum  Not cheap, but definately worth the money.

At work I have a 7hp gas powered vac that will suck up glass, gravel, nails, screws, pavement chunks.....no so good in the house though....They must be real proud of the Dysons with the price of them.

{ place shameless suck/blow pun here }

I don't know what it is about vacuum's, but I'm typically more interested in them than my wife. She doesn't care what we have. Either way, she is the one that uses it 95% of the time. Having a long hair and short hair cat makes me always on the lookout for a good vacuum.

With that said, I've been looking at the dyson's. Her grandmother has one and she has 3 cats (two long hair) and 3 dogs... (she used to work at a pet shelter). We stayed there for a week or so and I saw her run the vacuum a few times. I couldn't believe how much crap that thing picked up. Just in a matter of a couple days.

Whether I'm the one that vacuum's or not, if I know there's cat hair around, it bugs me. My wife isn't nearly as meticulous about vacuuming as I am. It's the closest thing I got to mowing a lawn... which I miss doing.

I'll have to keep an eye out for a dyson after christmas.

The best of both worlds for REAL men who love to vaccuum.

LMAO. You're right, lessen. I think he also chose the window treatments.

just for knowing what a window treatment is your right there with him:LoL:

LMAO!
I KNEW I should have said "drapes".
I've been spending too much time at Bed Bath and Beyond, looking for shams and duvets (dew-vays') in mauve or taupe.

And they say real men don't cry, and real men don't eat kieshe.
That's not true. Every time I eat Kieshe, I cry.

Every time we "have" to shop for drapes, sheets or comforter... I cry.

Men shouldn't even be allowed in those departments. We don't even know what mauve or taupe is, and it's embarassing for us to even use those words.
Then there's celery, latte, mocha, cantalope, peach, etc.
Where's the food? Whatever happened to tan, red, orange, light blue or sort of greenish?
Fine. I'll take a mocha and give me the peach to go.
