No apology necessary. Just caught me odd.

Anyhow, you should not have had any problems with it. You are running the perfect setup in regards to voltage, mah and battery type when it comes to failsafes. Weird.

Like you said, the Venom is a great failsafe. And cost effective to boot! And THAT is something we all need in this hobby :smart:

Wait until your first run-a-way that results in big $$$ to repair. You will think its worth it then.....

Its like that extra insurance .... You dont want to trust your underwriter until something goes wrong and you need that policy.

I would never tell anyone they MUST run with a failsafe, its just what I tell myself.

Ya, I always check my batteries and I am very careful on how the crystals and wires are set up. I don't think its worth the 40 (Canadian)

Steve

You can check everything you want, but when they go, they go. You could have the best of everything and it wont save your ride if it decides to do it....

How much do you have invested into your ride?

Nothing, its stock cause it was my first one and didn't want to put anything into it. So my next one will have a bit more into it. I just use thottle return springs.

Steve

number one: buy a fuel filter
number two: buy a failsafe

EVERYTHING else can become cheaper after that.

Ya, wish I bought a failsafe, it haunted me today. I was driving with a friend and he hit a wall and thr car flipped so he flipped it back and it went WOT into a puddle. It was 1- 1.5 feet deep and was completely submerger for a minute. I think the engine might be toast thankfully I waterproofed the electronics.

Things I broke:
Broken Body
Front Bumper
Front Bulk
Front Servo Saver
The thing that hold the Bog bone in
Bent Chassis in 2 spots
Engine (maybe) havent tried yet
Broken Differencial case

I think it will cost me 175+ for new engine and 100+dollars in parts (Canadian) to get it going again.

I don't think a failsafe could save me though, a wire came out from the batteries to the switch. Needed a thottle return spring. Now i got an extra parts bin. GT here I come.

Steve

Thats odd, I would have thought your throttle return spring would have saved you there. Especially since the servos had no power. When they are on power though, you WANT a failsafe. I dont know of ANY spring that will overpower my servo's. And if they could, I wouldnt want it anyhow.......

I don't know it was really weird. Anyways the only part I broke was the bumper and every other piece is held together with zip ties or shoe goo. I just hope my engine is ok and that it isnt killed.

Steve

Just a side note on the dynamite failsafe.
If you are using an Airtronics M8 TX the standard Dynamite failsafe wont work. You will need to get the M8 specific unit.
FYI

Why is that Ed?
