Dynamite Failsafe

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this failsafe? It's the only one that my local hobby shop has in stock. Do I go for that one or is there some downfall of getting it (am I right to assume all failsafes are essentially equal?)?

Personally, I run Venom failsafes in my cars without any problems. I've heard mixed reviews of the Dynamite, some like it some don't. I'm not sure if you can use an Airtronics M8 or MX-3 with that failsafe, might want to double check on that though. All failsafes aren't equal.

For those JR XS3 owners out there, what's a good failsafe to use with that reciever?

I don't mean to de-rail your thread man, but this question is along the same lines. Maybe someone else can speak up about Dynamite failsafes.

Not a problem man! I was wondering about a failsafe that would work good with the XS3 too :thumbsup:

I run the dynamite failsafe in both my Maxx and my Storm. SHK made me do it! Anyways both have worked great since installed. The only thing I would change is make them about half the size they are.

I use the XR3i so it will work fine with your radio. Any brand of radio will work with a failsafe though. doesn't matter AM or FM

I've seen a few members have the Venom failsafe. Is there a reason it is more popular or better?

Its smaller and a cool color green. Feature are the same though if I'm not mistaken.

I think the Venom cost a little more.

hmm, like how small are we talkin'? When I looked at the dynamite it looked pretty tiny I think. Although there wasn't another failsafe to compare it with.

Its about half the size I think.

Sure both are not big but when trying to shove a reciever, a battery pack, and a failsafe into a radio compartment on a buggy, having small stuff matters. I went with the small JR 200 FM reciever and went with the little bigger failsafe. The 200 is almost as small as the failsafe but the 200 is about twice as thick.

see how my old R135 was a kinda big reciever? I was way too squished in there and I had to leave the failsafe dangling out of the radio compartment.

hmm, yeah I guess there isn't much room there eh? My radio tray is kinda weird cause the receiver sits on a shelf above the steering servo. Then all the wires go through a little hole and the batt pack is underneath. I wonder where I could mount it? I guess that'll determine whether I need a really small failsafe or not.

yep:thumbup: you got to think of all the pieces to the puzzle when buying parts. Many o time have I bought something just to buy it that did not work out.

Here's a link to the Venom failsafe. It's pretty small, mine fits inside the receiver case.

I originally was going to buy the Dynamite failsafe, but when I read the package it said it wasn't compatible with the MX-3 or M8. This was a while ago though. I don't know about now.

Also failsafes will work with any frequencey regardless of AM or FM.

the problem with the air tronics is the plug needs to be modified to make it plug in right but other than that it will work.

Didn't bother checking plugs and didn't want to take that kind of chance. So I paid extra for the Venom.

Ohh I would have too you made the right choice. There's really no sense in jerry rigging race rigs.

I originally bought the Dynamite fail safe for the stock T-maxx and it worked flawalessly. I then upgraded to a rechargeable NiCads and started having problems. When the batteries are fully charged, the fail safe would shutdown. I read from other posts that it was cutting off because of the high peak voltage when the batteries are fully charged. After I keep moving aroung the sterring servo to discharge the batteries, then it worked fine. I just charged the NiCads at around 75% instead of fully charged and I never had a problem.

I have now bought the Venom fail safe and it never gave me any problems (Highly Recommended).

Love that Venom! Venom, OFNA and MPI failsafes all have worked great for me.

How many volts does that NiCd pack put out? How many MaH? 5 cell?

The only thing catching me oddly is that they are NiCd. Not that odd just not the norm.... All I use or see is NiMh in the vehicle and NiCd's in the TX. For the most part. I just switched to NiMh's in one of my TX's and am happy I did. No more draining the batts.

Your right Çh®i§tiªñ. My battery pack for the Rx were NiMh and not NiCd. The NiCds are in my TX. I was using the Dynamite 5-cell 6volt 1000 MAH NiCd (Sanyo) which gave the Dynamite fail safe problems.
